You have four ways to connect Google Calendar and Outlook: subscribe to your Google calendar in Outlook, add your Google account to Outlook, publish your Outlook calendar to Google Calendar, or copy events with Zapier. Where it stops: Microsoft says a subscribed calendar can take more than 24 hours to update, and none of the four check for clashes or fix them. That is where missed meetings come from. AI agents keep both calendars right and tell you when something clashes.
Why people connect Google Calendar and Outlook
You run your business on Google, and a big client sends all their invites from Outlook. Or your office is on Outlook, and your own day lives in Google Calendar. Either way, you have two calendars, and a slot that looks free in one is booked in the other.
So connecting them has to mean more than seeing both. Each one should show when you are busy, so nobody books over a meeting. And the copy has to stay current: a meeting that moves in one has to move in the other the same day.
Four ways to connect Google Calendar and Outlook
The first three come from Google and Microsoft.
Subscribe to your Google Calendar in Outlook
- How it works
- In Google Calendar settings, copy the calendar's Secret address in iCal format. In Outlook, select Add calendar, then Subscribe from web, and paste it.
- Good for
- Seeing your Google events in Outlook so you don't double book.
- Where it breaks
- Google calls it a view-only link, and Microsoft says updates can take more than 24 hours. A work admin may have turned it off.
Add your Google account to Outlook
- How it works
- In new Outlook, go to Accounts, then Your accounts, select Add Account and sign in with Google. Google says some programs then let you add and edit events from either side.
- Good for
- One person who wants Google mail and calendar inside Outlook.
- Where it breaks
- It is set up one person at a time, so it doesn't show the rest of the team.
Publish your Outlook calendar to Google
- How it works
- In Outlook on the web, go to Settings, then Shared calendars, and publish the calendar. Copy the ICS link. In Google Calendar, next to Other calendars, select Add other calendars, then From URL, and paste it.
- Good for
- The other way around: seeing your Outlook meetings in Google Calendar.
- Where it breaks
- Microsoft says published calendars are read-only, and how often they update depends on the other provider.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier has ready-made zaps for this pair, like adding Outlook events to Google Calendar, or making Outlook events for new or updated Google Calendar events.
- Good for
- Copying one kind of event across, like new bookings from one calendar into the other.
- Where it breaks
- Each direction is its own zap, and cancellations need another one. Outlook's new event trigger checks every 15 minutes on the Free plan.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read events and free and busy times in Google Calendar and your Outlook calendar. When a meeting is booked or moved in one, they hold the same time in the other, and they tell you the same day when two meetings clash.
- Good for
- Owners and teams who live in both calendars and can't afford a missed meeting.
- Where it breaks
- Anything your rules keep for you, like turning down a client's invite, comes to you in one message.
How to connect Outlook calendar with Google Calendar by hand
Google's and Microsoft's help pages show the screens. Steps 1 and 2 put Google in Outlook. Steps 3 and 4 put Outlook in Google.
- 1
Copy your Google calendar's secret addressIn Google Calendar settings, click your calendar under Settings for my calendars, then Integrate calendar. Copy the Secret address in iCal format.
- 2
Subscribe to it in OutlookIn new Outlook, below the calendar grid, select Add calendar, then Subscribe from web. Paste the link and select Import.
- 3
Publish your Outlook calendar
In Outlook on the web, go to Settings, then Shared calendars. Under Publish a calendar, set how much detail people see, select Publish and copy the ICS link.
- 4
Add it to Google CalendarNext to Other calendars, click Add other calendars, then From URL. Paste the ICS link and click Add calendar.
Where the Google Calendar Outlook integration stops
Each way shows your events in the other calendar. Keeping the two the same is still done by hand.
Updates are slow. Microsoft says a subscribed calendar can take more than 24 hours to update, with updates roughly every 3 to 6 hours. A meeting moved this morning can still show its old time this afternoon.
Changes and deletions get lost. On Microsoft's Q&A forum, a thread titled "Outlook Calendar not showing changes to linked Google Calendar" has over 50 answers, with more than 100 people marking the same problem: new events come across, but changed or deleted ones don't. A 2026 thread describes a Google calendar in classic Outlook that stopped adding new events until it was removed and added again.
Zaps miss cancellations. Zapier's trigger for new or updated Google events skips cancelled ones, so a cancelled meeting stays put unless you build a second zap.
Google Workspace Sync has limits too. Google says it shows other people's free and busy times only 28 days back and 56 days ahead.
So most weeks, someone checks both calendars before saying yes, moves meetings by hand in the second one and deletes the ones that were cancelled.
The agents that do it
Each agent does one job from start to finish, working from your Google Calendar and checking it against your other calendars. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Google Calendar and Outlook and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Can you connect Outlook calendar to Google Calendar?
Yes. Publish your calendar in Outlook on the web and copy its ICS link. Then in Google Calendar, add it with Add other calendars, then From URL. Microsoft says published calendars are read-only.
Is the Google Calendar and Outlook connection two-way?
A subscription or a published link is one-way and view only. Google says some calendar programs let you sign in with your Google account to add and edit events from either one. Zapier zaps can copy events in each direction.
My company uses Google Workspace. Can we use Outlook?
Google has Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook. With it, Workspace users can schedule events, see who is free in their company, and view all their Google calendars from Outlook.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
