The Asana integration with Google Calendar comes in two parts. Sync to Calendar puts the tasks from one project, or your My tasks list, on your Google Calendar as all-day events. The Google Calendar app in Asana lets you attach events to tasks and use rules to book a meeting when a task reaches a set stage. Where it stops: Sync to Calendar only goes one way, Google decides when it refreshes, and Asana staff say that can take up to 24 hours. Completed tasks can stay on the calendar, and nobody chases the late ones. AI agents check both and do that chasing.
What the Asana integration with Google Calendar can do
Most teams plan the work in Asana and plan the day in Google Calendar. When the two don't agree, a due date sits in Asana that nobody blocked time for, a client meeting gets booked on the day a big task is due, or a finished task still shows on the calendar as if it were open.
So connected has to mean two things. Each person can see their due dates next to their meetings, and a change in Asana shows up on the calendar soon enough to plan around. Asana gives you two ways to do the first part. The second part is where the gaps are.
Three ways to connect Asana and Google Calendar
Many teams use the first two together: one to see the due dates, one to book the meetings.
Sync to Calendar
- How it works
- Asana makes a calendar link for one project or for your My tasks list. You add that link to Google Calendar under Other calendars, From URL. Tasks with due dates show up as all-day events, and clicking one opens the task in Asana.
- Good for
- Anyone who wants to see their Asana due dates next to their meetings, without anyone keeping the calendar by hand.
- Where it breaks
- Asana says it only goes one way: changes in your calendar never reach Asana. Each project needs its own link. Google decides when to fetch new changes, and Asana staff have said that can take up to 24 hours. In the Asana forum, people have reported waits of two to three days, and completed tasks that stay on the calendar.
The Google Calendar app in Asana
- How it works
- You add Google Calendar to a project under Customize, then Apps. Then you can attach an event to a task, and use rules to create a meeting with the task's people when a task moves to a section, like Scheduled. A data sync setting keeps the event's date and time in line with the task.
- Good for
- Teams that book meetings as part of the work, like a client review when a task reaches a set stage.
- Where it breaks
- Asana says the data sync setting works with only one personal work calendar, and only on events where you are the organizer. You set up the app and the rules one project at a time. It books and updates the event, but it doesn't tell anyone when a task is late or a meeting was missed.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier has Asana steps, like New Task, Updated Task, Completed Task and Task Moved to Section, and Google Calendar steps, like Create Detailed Event, Update Event and Delete Event. You build each zap yourself.
- Good for
- Teams with one fixed routine, like a timed calendar block for each new task in one project.
- Where it breaks
- Each case is a zap you build and keep up: new tasks, new due dates, finished tasks and deleted tasks. When a zap fails, someone has to notice in Zapier and fix the calendar by hand.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read your Asana tasks and your Google Calendar, check that due dates and meetings agree, flag a due date with no time blocked for it, chase late tasks with their owners, and post a weekly status for each project.
- Good for
- Teams with several projects going at once, where a missed due date costs a client.
- Where it breaks
- Anything your rules keep for a person, like moving a client's deadline, goes to the project owner in one message.
How to connect Asana to Google Calendar
These follow Asana's and Google's own guides. Open them for the screens.
- 1
Get the calendar link for a projectOpen the project in Asana and click the drop-down menu next to the project's name. Go to Export/Print and select Sync to calendar. Copy the link from the pop-up window.
- 2
Add the link to Google Calendar on a computerIn Google Calendar, click Add other calendars next to Other calendars, then From URL. Paste the link and click Add calendar. Google says you can't do this in the Google Calendar app on a phone, so use a computer.
- 3
Do the same for My tasksIn My tasks, open the actions drop-down menu and select Sync to Calendar. Copy the link and add it to Google Calendar the same way. Your own due dates then show next to your meetings.
- 4
Add the Google Calendar app to a projectIn the project, click Customize, then Apps. Select Google Calendar, click Add to project, sign in with your Google account and click Allow. To attach a meeting, open a task and click Add Google Calendar event.
- 5
Set the rules and the data syncUnder Customize, then Rules, set a rule that books a meeting when a task moves to a section. Under Customize, Apps, Google Calendar, open the Data sync setting tab, select your calendar and the task fields to keep in line, and click Save and close.
- 6
Test one change
Move one task's due date and mark another one done. Then check Google Calendar the next day to see how long each change took to show.
Where the Asana Google Calendar sync stops
Sync to Calendar is a one-way feed, and Google sets the pace. Asana's own page says updates in your calendar will not be reflected in Asana. In a long Asana forum thread about how often tasks update in Google Calendar, an Asana staff member wrote that it can take up to 24 hours for a refresh, and that it is up to Google how often the calendar updates. People in that same thread, more than a dozen of them, reported waits of hours, then two days, then more than 72 hours.
Finished work doesn't always leave. In an Asana forum post from August 2026, a team wrote that the calendar had stopped adding new tasks and stopped removing completed ones. The reply was to remove the calendar, get a fresh link from Asana, add it again, and wait up to a day. That is a person checking and fixing it by hand.
The calendar shows due dates, not time. Tasks come across as all-day events. Nobody blocks the hours a task will take, so a day can look free while three tasks are due on it.
The app that does book meetings has its own limits. Asana says its data sync setting covers only one personal work calendar, and only events where you are the organizer. A meeting someone else set up won't follow the task.
And none of it chases the work. Who owns the late task, which meeting moved, and what the client needs to hear all stay with the project lead, who still has to read both screens and send the messages.
The agents that do it
Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own Asana and Google Calendar. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.
Late work gets caught before the client notices.
- Finds tasks past their due dateevery day

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Asana and Google Calendar and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Does Asana sync with Google Calendar both ways?
No. Asana says Sync to Calendar is one-way, from Asana to your calendar. Changes you make in Google Calendar don't reach Asana. The Google Calendar app in Asana can keep an event's date and time in line with its task, on events you organize.
How often do Asana tasks update in Google Calendar?
Google decides when to fetch the changes. Asana staff have said it can take up to 24 hours, and people in Asana's forum report longer waits. If a change never shows, remove the calendar, get a fresh link from Asana and add it again.
Can I add Asana tasks to the Google Calendar app on my phone?
Not directly. Google says you can't add a calendar by link in the Google Calendar app on Android, iPhone or iPad. Add the Asana link on a computer first.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
