There are three real ways to set up a HubSpot Asana integration: Asana's own HubSpot app, the Create an Asana task action in HubSpot workflows, or a Zapier zap. All three make Asana tasks when something happens to a deal in HubSpot. Where they stop: nothing flows back to the deal when the work is done, HubSpot's own tasks don't come across, and the HubSpot action can't add subtasks or map your custom fields. Someone still chases the work and tells sales. AI agents do that part.
What "connected" has to mean
Sales wins the deal in HubSpot. Then the work starts in Asana: a project, tasks, owners and due dates. Without a HubSpot Asana integration, someone copies the deal over by hand, and the team starts late or misses what was sold.
A good connection does more than make a task. It sets up the right work for what was sold, keeps it moving, and lets sales see in HubSpot how the customer's work is going.
Three ways to connect Asana and HubSpot
One is built by Asana, one is built into HubSpot, and one uses Zapier.
Asana's HubSpot app
- How it works
- You install HubSpot for Asana from Asana's app page and sign in to HubSpot. A HubSpot widget on a task shows the deal, like the amount and the owner, or an email campaign. Asana rules make tasks or comments when a deal changes, like a new deal in a pipeline or a deal moving to a new stage.
- Good for
- Teams who run their work in Asana and want deal details next to each task.
- Where it breaks
- It only goes one way. Asana's help says the app does not edit any data in HubSpot, so the deal never shows how the work is going. The HubSpot widget needs a paid Asana plan, Starter or above.
HubSpot workflows
- How it works
- In a HubSpot workflow you add the Create an Asana task action. When a contact or deal meets your rules, HubSpot makes the task in Asana.
- Good for
- HubSpot teams who already build workflows and want one more step in them.
- Where it breaks
- Workflows need a Professional or Enterprise plan. Each action makes one task in one project, and reviewers say it can't add subtasks, set due dates that change with the deal, or map custom fields. Private Asana projects don't show up, and the person who connected Asana is added to each task.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier's templates make Asana tasks from new HubSpot form entries, new tickets or changed deal stages. One goes the other way: it makes or updates a HubSpot contact when an Asana task is done.
- Good for
- Triggers the other two don't cover, like forms and tickets, or a simple step back into HubSpot.
- Where it breaks
- Each zap is one trigger and one action you build. A full project, with many tasks and owners, is many zaps to set up and watch. HubSpot's own tasks still don't come across.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read each won deal in HubSpot, set up the Asana project and tasks with owners and due dates, chase late tasks every day, and log progress back on the HubSpot deal as notes.
- Good for
- Teams where new customers have to start on time, and nobody has the hours to chase.
- Where it breaks
- Anything your rules keep for a person, like a task that's late twice or a change to what was sold, goes to the owner in one message.
Set up the HubSpot Asana integration: five steps
The vendors' own pages have the full screens, linked under each step.
- 1
Install the appOn Asana's HubSpot app page, click Install HubSpot for Asana, sign in to HubSpot and say which account to use. You need a paid Asana plan.
- 2
Add HubSpot to a project
In the Asana project, click Customize, then add HubSpot under Apps.
- 3
Link a deal to a taskOn a task, click the HubSpot field and paste the link to the deal. The amount and owner show on the task.
- 4
Add a rule for deal changes
Under Customize, add a rule, select HubSpot, and make a task when a deal is created or moves stage.
- 5
Or add the action in a HubSpot workflowOn a Professional or Enterprise plan, add the Create an Asana task action to a workflow. Make sure the person who connected Asana is on the project.
Where the HubSpot Asana integration stops
Nothing comes back to HubSpot. Asana's help says its app does not edit any data in HubSpot. The task can show the deal, but the deal can't show the task. When a customer asks sales how their project is going, sales still asks the team, then types a note on the deal.
HubSpot's own tasks stay in HubSpot. A thread on Asana's forum asking for HubSpot tasks to come across into Asana has drawn replies from more than 20 people since 2017, and the answers point to Zapier, Asana's API or an outside app. So a call note with a follow-up task made in HubSpot is still copied into Asana by hand.
The HubSpot action is basic. On the HubSpot Marketplace, the Asana app averages 2.7 out of 5 from 41 ratings, and about half are one or two stars. Reviewers keep naming the same gaps: no subtasks, no due dates that move with the deal, and no custom fields. HubSpot's help adds that private Asana projects don't show up. So a won deal turns into one task, and someone still builds the rest of the project and chases it.
The agents that do it
Each agent does one job from start to finish: setting up and tracking projects in your Asana, and keeping your HubSpot right. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.
New clients start on day one, not next week.
- Spots a won deal in your CRMas it happens

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own HubSpot and Asana and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Does HubSpot have an Asana integration?
Yes. HubSpot workflows have a Create an Asana task action, on Professional and Enterprise plans. Asana also makes its own HubSpot app, which you install from Asana's app page.
Can the Asana and HubSpot integration create tasks when a deal changes stage?
Yes. Asana rules can make a task and give it to a team member when a deal moves to a new stage. Zapier has a template for this too.
Why can't I see my Asana project in HubSpot?
HubSpot's help says private Asana projects don't show up, and the person who connected Asana must be a collaborator on the project.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
