A Twilio Zoom integration runs one of three ways. A Zapier zap or a Make scenario can send a Twilio text when someone signs up for a Zoom meeting, or when a meeting ends. For phone calls, Zoom Phone can use Twilio phone lines, set up with Zoom's team. Where it stops: each zap sends one text in one direction, replies reach Zapier on a timer, some Zoom triggers need a paid Zoom plan or the meeting host, and nothing checks who actually joined. Someone still reads the replies and follows up with people who missed the meeting. AI agents do that work.
What a Twilio Zoom integration has to do
Zoom runs your meetings and webinars. Twilio sends your texts and calls. When the two don't talk, someone copies the meeting link into a text, sends reminders by hand, and later checks who showed up and who didn't.
So connected has to mean more than one text going out. The right people should get the link and a reminder before the meeting. Their replies should reach a person. And after the meeting, the people who missed it should hear from you the same day, while the ones who joined should not.
Ways to connect Twilio and Zoom
Neither company makes a direct app for texting about meetings. These are the ways their pages and Zapier's and Make's pages describe.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier lists Zoom triggers like New Meeting Registrant, New Webinar Registrant, New Meeting Ended, New Cloud Recording and New Participant Joined Webinar or Meeting. On the Twilio side, a zap can Send SMS, Call Phone or Send WhatsApp Message. A common zap texts the meeting link to each new registrant.
- Good for
- Texting a link or a reminder to each person who signs up. No code.
- Where it breaks
- In a Zapier Community thread, Zapier's team says the New Meeting Registrant trigger needs a Zoom Pro plan or higher. Another thread, open from 2023 into 2025, covers a New Meeting trigger that stopped firing, which Zapier's team called a known bug. Zapier's New Meeting Summary trigger only works if you hosted the meeting.
A Make scenario
- How it works
- Make lists Zoom triggers like Watch Meetings, Watch Webinars and Watch Recordings, and Twilio actions like Create a Message and Create a Call.
- Good for
- Teams already using Make who want more steps in one flow, like a text and a CRM update together.
- Where it breaks
- Make's page shows no Twilio triggers, so texts coming in, like a reply to a reminder, need another way in. You build each case yourself.
Zoom Phone on Twilio phone lines
- How it works
- Twilio's guide shows how Zoom Phone can place and take calls over Twilio Elastic SIP Trunking, which the guide calls Zoom Phone Premises Peering. Each person can be set to call through Zoom's own lines, Twilio, or both.
- Good for
- Companies that want calls in the Zoom app but their numbers and phone service on Twilio.
- Where it breaks
- Twilio's guide says it needs the Zoom Phone Business Plus plan, and Zoom doesn't let you set up the Twilio lines yourself: you work with your Zoom account team or Zoom support. It covers calls, not texts or meetings.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read your Zoom meetings and sign-ups, send the link and reminders from your Twilio number, read the replies, and check who joined. People who missed the meeting get a text with a link to book again.
- Good for
- Teams that run many client calls, classes or webinars and lose hours to reminders and follow-up.
- Where it breaks
- Anything your rules keep for a person, like an upset reply or a request to cancel a paid session, goes to your team in one message.
How to connect Twilio to Zoom with Zapier
These follow Zapier's and Twilio's own pages. Open them for the screens.
- 1
Get your Twilio number readyYou need a Twilio phone number. Zapier's guide says a trial account needs at least one verified number, and texting with a US toll-free number needs Toll Free verification first.
- 2
Connect Twilio and Zoom in Zapier
Find your Account SID and Auth Token in your Twilio account settings. In Zapier, go to the Apps page, click + Add connection, add Twilio with those two values, then add Zoom and sign in.
- 3
Build the zapStart with a Zoom trigger, like New Meeting Registrant, and add a Twilio Send SMS step. Map the phone number from the sign-up and put the join link in the message.
- 4
Test it with your own number
Sign up for a test meeting with your own phone number and check the text arrives. Zapier's help says zaps only run on new data, so people who signed up before you turned it on won't get a text.
- 5
For calls, ask Zoom about Twilio linesIf you want Zoom Phone calls over Twilio, set up the Twilio side from Twilio's guide, then send the details to Zoom. Zoom's team sets up its side.
Where the Twilio Zoom integration stops
A zap sends one text when one thing happens. The rest of the work around the meeting is still done by hand.
Replies come in late and alone. Zapier's help says only Twilio's New Call trigger is instant; New SMS checks on a timer, every 15 minutes on the Free plan and every 2 minutes on Professional. When a reply does come in, the zap knows the phone number, not which meeting the person signed up for. Someone still matches it up and answers.
The trigger depends on your Zoom plan and who hosted. Zapier's team says New Meeting Registrant needs Zoom Pro or higher, and Zapier's page says the New Meeting Summary and New Audio Transcript triggers only cover meetings you hosted. In a Zapier Community thread, people reported the New Meeting trigger failing on and off from 2023 into 2025; Zapier's team called it a known bug that was hard to repeat.
Nobody checks who joined. A reminder goes to everyone who signed up, but no zap compares the sign-up list to the people who came, so the follow-up to the ones who missed it is a person's job, if it happens at all. Our article on what a Zoom integration should do covers the same gap with other programs.
Phone lines need Zoom's team. Twilio's guide says Zoom won't let you set up the Twilio lines yourself, and when Zoom changed its addresses, existing setups had to update their Twilio settings to keep calls working.
When a zap is enough, and when it isn't
If you run a few webinars a month and just want the link texted to each sign-up, a zap is fine. Keep it simple and check the zap's history after each event. The same rule holds when you text a list from Google Sheets.
Once you have client calls or classes every day, the work moves to the edges: replies to answer, people to rebook, and a list of who missed twice. That is the part a zap was never built to do, and it is where most of the hours go. If your bookings start in Calendly, the Zoom and Calendly guide covers where those links come from.
The agents that do it
Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own Twilio and Zoom. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Twilio and Zoom accounts and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Can Twilio send Zoom meeting reminders by text?
Yes, with a zap. Start with a Zoom trigger like New Meeting Registrant and add a Twilio Send SMS step. Zapier's team says that trigger needs a Zoom Pro plan or higher.
Can Zoom Phone use Twilio numbers?
Yes. Twilio's guide shows Zoom Phone calling over Twilio Elastic SIP Trunking. It says you need the Zoom Phone Business Plus plan and Zoom's team sets up its side.
Why did my Zoom zap stop working?
Zapier's team has called a New Meeting trigger problem a known bug. Check that your Zoom plan supports the trigger, that you host the meeting, and reconnect Zoom in Zapier. If it still won't run, contact Zapier Support.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
