The Klaviyo integration with WooCommerce is Klaviyo's own extension, Klaviyo for WooCommerce. You add it from WooCommerce, then select Connect Account under Marketing, Klaviyo. It sends checkouts, orders, products viewed, refunds and cancels to Klaviyo in real time, and adds email and SMS consent at checkout. A Zapier zap can add events the extension doesn't send. Where it stops: Klaviyo's order revenue doesn't take off refunds, a partial refund doesn't count as a refund, WooCommerce Subscriptions need a separate plugin, and caching or redirect plugins can get in the way. AI agents check your flows and your email numbers against the store.
What the Klaviyo WooCommerce integration has to do
For online stores, Klaviyo sends the right email to the right shopper only if it knows what they did in the store. That means each checkout started, each order, each refund and each cancel has to reach Klaviyo quickly and correctly. If it doesn't, a customer who asked for a refund gets a thank-you offer, or a cart email goes to someone who already paid.
So the connection has two jobs. It sends WooCommerce activity to Klaviyo as it happens, and it keeps Klaviyo's numbers close enough to the store's that you can trust the reports. Klaviyo's extension does the first part well. The second part needs someone to check.
Two ways to connect them, and where agents fit
Klaviyo's own extension is the main one.
Klaviyo for WooCommerce
- How it works
- Klaviyo's own extension, listed on the WooCommerce Marketplace and on WordPress.org. It sends Started Checkout, Added to Cart, Placed Order, Fulfilled Order, Ordered Product, Cancelled Order, Refunded Order, Viewed Product and Active on Site to Klaviyo in real time, and can add email, SMS and WhatsApp consent boxes at checkout.
- Good for
- Most WooCommerce stores that send email or texts from Klaviyo.
- Where it breaks
- WooCommerce Subscriptions need a separate plugin. On WordPress.org the plugin is rated 2.8 out of 5 (4.1 on the WooCommerce Marketplace), and its one star reviews there mention bugs, slow pages and 502 errors.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier's WooCommerce triggers, like Order, Customer or Subscription, can start Klaviyo actions like Create Event, Add Profile to List or Subscribe Profile.
- Good for
- One extra event the extension doesn't send, like a WooCommerce Subscriptions renewal.
- Where it breaks
- Zapier says the WooCommerce side needs a paid extension, and the Subscription trigger needs WooCommerce Subscriptions. Each event is a step you build and keep up.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read orders, refunds and cancels in WooCommerce, check what Klaviyo recorded, test that your cart and welcome flows still fire, and report what each email brought in, net of refunds.
- Good for
- Online stores where Klaviyo drives a real share of sales, and nobody has the hours to check it.
- Where it breaks
- Anything your rules keep for a person, like a flow that stopped or a list that dropped sharply, goes to your team in one message.
How to set up the WooCommerce Klaviyo integration
These follow Klaviyo's own guide. Open it for the screens.
- 1
Turn off caching and redirect plugins
Klaviyo recommends turning these off while you set up, since they can get in the way. If you have a firewall, add Klaviyo's IP addresses to its allowlist.
- 2
Add the extensionIn WooCommerce, go to WooCommerce, then Extensions, search for Klaviyo and open Klaviyo for WooCommerce. Add it to your site, then go to Plugins and select Activate.
- 3
Connect your Klaviyo accountGo to Marketing, then Klaviyo, and select Connect Account. Approve the access in Klaviyo. Set the email consent box and list, SMS or WhatsApp consent, and currency conversion if you sell in more than one currency, then select Complete setup.
- 4
Place a test orderAdd an item, start checkout, opt in and place the order. In Klaviyo, check that Started Checkout and Placed Order appear under Recent Data and that the profile joined your list.
- 5
Compare one month of revenue
Put Klaviyo's Placed Order revenue for last month next to WooCommerce's sales report. Write down the gap and what causes it, so you know what normal looks like.
Where the Klaviyo WooCommerce integration stops
Klaviyo gets the events. The work in the middle is knowing whether they are right. Klaviyo's own data reference says its Placed Order revenue does not subtract refunded orders, so Klaviyo's revenue can differ from WooCommerce's. It also says a partial refund that leaves the order processing or completed does not count as a Refunded Order. A shopper who sent half an order back looks like a happy customer to your flows.
Some data never comes across. Klaviyo's listing on the WooCommerce Marketplace says WooCommerce Subscriptions data isn't synced by the extension; you need a separate plugin for renewals and cancels. Unpaid cancelled orders aren't tracked, and a shopper who makes a store account doesn't become a Klaviyo profile until they order or are seen on the site logged in.
Settings don't reach back. Klaviyo says changing the currency setting won't affect data already sent, and SMS consent won't sync at all if your company is age-gated. Stores on Shopify set this up differently; see the guide to connecting Shopify to Klaviyo.
And the plugin itself needs watching. On WordPress.org, its one star reviews over several years mention a buggy plugin, slower pages and 502 errors. Klaviyo's guide says caching and redirect plugins can cause connection problems, so a new caching plugin is one more thing to check. If you also send store data to a CRM, the guide to connecting WooCommerce to HubSpot covers that side.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own WooCommerce and Klaviyo and see only what their job needs. They never see card numbers; your payment provider keeps those. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Does Klaviyo work with WooCommerce?
Yes. Klaviyo makes its own extension, Klaviyo for WooCommerce, listed on the WooCommerce Marketplace and WordPress.org. It sends store activity to Klaviyo in real time.
Does Klaviyo sync WooCommerce refunds?
Full refunds, yes, as Refunded Order. Klaviyo says a partial refund that leaves the order processing or completed doesn't count, and Placed Order revenue doesn't subtract refunds.
Does Klaviyo sync WooCommerce Subscriptions?
Not with the extension alone. Klaviyo's listing says a separate plugin is needed to send subscription purchases and cancels to Klaviyo.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
