The Zoho CRM and Mailchimp integration made by Zoho is its MailChimp extension, installed from the Zoho Marketplace. It brings Mailchimp subscribers into your Leads or Contacts, sends CRM contacts to a Mailchimp audience, updates Email Opt Out when someone unsubscribes in Mailchimp, and shows each campaign's opens and clicks in Zoho CRM. Zoho Flow and Zapier are the other ways. Where it stops: the scheduled sync runs daily or weekly, one side always wins a conflict, unmatched records become new ones, and removing the extension deletes the synced list data. Nobody calls the lead who clicked. AI agents do that work.
What the Zoho CRM and Mailchimp integration has to do
Sales works in Zoho CRM. Marketing sends from Mailchimp. When the two are apart, a lead who opened three emails looks cold to the rep, a client who unsubscribed gets added back to a list, and someone exports a CSV from one and imports it into the other each week.
So connected has to mean three things. The right people are on the right Mailchimp audience, an unsubscribe in one place is an unsubscribe in both, and the rep can see who opened and clicked. Zoho's extension covers much of this. What happens with that click is still up to someone on the team.
Three ways to connect Zoho CRM and Mailchimp
Zoho makes the first two. Zapier is the third. Either of the last two can run next to the extension.
Zoho's MailChimp extension
- How it works
- You install MailChimp from Setup, Marketplace in Zoho CRM and sign in to Mailchimp. It adds three modules: MailChimp, MailChimp Audiences and MailChimp Segments/Tags. You set the sync to one way or both ways, all records or only some lists, and map Mailchimp fields to Zoho CRM fields.
- Good for
- Teams that want subscribers, unsubscribes and campaign results in Zoho CRM without building anything.
- Where it breaks
- Zoho's guide says scheduled sync runs daily or weekly, and conflicts follow one rule: CRM always wins or MailChimp always wins. Default fields can't be changed in the mapping. If you uninstall it, the synced list data and its custom fields are deleted for good.
Zoho Flow
- How it works
- Zoho Flow has Mailchimp and Zoho CRM steps, like Subscriber unsubscribes from list and Link clicked in Mailchimp, and Create or update lead and Add tags in Zoho CRM. You build each flow yourself.
- Good for
- Teams that want one rule the extension doesn't do, like tagging a lead in Zoho CRM when they click a certain link.
- Where it breaks
- Each case is a flow you build and keep up. When a flow fails, someone has to notice it and fix the record by hand.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier has Mailchimp steps, like New Subscriber, Link Clicked and Add/Update Subscriber, and Zoho CRM steps, like New Lead and Create/Update Module Entry.
- Good for
- Teams that already use Zapier for their other programs and want one fixed routine.
- Where it breaks
- Each zap runs one way. Unsubscribes, field changes and new leads are each a zap you build and watch.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read new leads and Mailchimp results, answer new leads the same day with a link to book, set a task for the lead's owner when someone clicks, check opt-outs match in both programs, and send the team a weekly email report.
- Good for
- Teams that send email each month and want the clicks turned into calls, not a report.
- Where it breaks
- Anything your rules keep for a person, like a reply to a big account, goes to the owner in one message.
How to set up the Zoho CRM integration with Mailchimp
These follow Zoho's own guide. Open it for the screens.
- 1
Install MailChimp from the Zoho MarketplaceIn Zoho CRM, go to Setup, then Marketplace, then All. Find MailChimp under All Extensions and click Install Now. Agree to the terms, then install it for admins only, for all users, or for certain profiles.
- 2
Sign in to MailchimpClick Authorize, sign in to your Mailchimp account in the new tab, and click Allow. If you skip this, you can do it later from the extension's page under Setup, Marketplace.
- 3
Set the syncOpen the MailChimp module and click the Setup tab. Set Bulk or Selective, then One Way or Both Ways, the direction, and the Conflict Behaviour. Turn on scheduled sync, daily or weekly, if you want it to run without you.
- 4
Map the fields and the audienceIn Merge Fields, match each Mailchimp field to its Zoho CRM field. In Mappings, set whether subscribers go to Leads or Contacts, and which Mailchimp audience gets your CRM contacts. Then click Sync Now.
- 5
Check how resubscribes workMailchimp says contacts who unsubscribed themselves have to sign up again on your Mailchimp signup form. Clearing Email Opt Out in Zoho CRM is not a new signup, so tell your team how to handle a client who wants back on the list.
Where the Zoho CRM Mailchimp integration stops
The extension moves people and results between the two programs. Keeping the lists clean, and doing something with the results, is still a person's job.
The schedule is slow. Zoho's guide says scheduled sync runs daily or weekly, with a Sync Now button for anything in between. A lead who fills in a Mailchimp form in the morning may not be in Zoho CRM until the next day unless someone clicks it.
Conflicts follow one rule. You set CRM always wins or MailChimp always wins for the whole sync. Zoho's guide says that with CRM always wins, new Mailchimp records that already exist in Zoho CRM don't sync, so a new phone number or company typed into Mailchimp never reaches the rep.
Matching makes new records. In Zoho's own post on the extension, the team says the sync updates records that match and creates new ones when no match is found. If the match misses, say a client signed up with a different email address, you get a second lead. Mailchimp's import guide adds that its audiences are separate, so it can't find duplicates across them.
Unsubscribes don't always undo. Zoho says Email Opt Out follows Mailchimp in both directions. Mailchimp says people who unsubscribed themselves have to sign up again on its signup form, so a rep who clears the box in Zoho CRM hasn't put the client back on the list.
Removing it costs data. Zoho's guide says uninstalling deletes the synced Mailchimp list data and fields like Lead Source and MailChimp ID for good. And none of it does the follow-up: the rep still has to see who clicked, call them, and log it.
The agents that do it
Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own Zoho CRM and Mailchimp. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Zoho CRM and Mailchimp and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Does Zoho CRM integrate with Mailchimp?
Yes. Zoho's MailChimp extension, from the Zoho Marketplace, syncs subscribers with your Leads and Contacts, updates Email Opt Out when someone unsubscribes in Mailchimp, and shows campaign opens and clicks in Zoho CRM. Zoho Flow and Zapier also connect the two.
How often does the Zoho CRM Mailchimp sync run?
Zoho's guide says scheduled sync runs daily or weekly. You can also click Sync Now on the extension's dashboard at any time.
What happens if I uninstall the MailChimp extension?
Zoho says the synced Mailchimp list data and its custom fields, like Lead Source and MailChimp ID, are deleted for good. Contacts and campaigns already synced to Zoho CRM stay.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
