The Yotpo app for Shopify is now two apps: Yotpo Product Reviews & UGC, and Yotpo Loyalty Rewards Program. Yotpo retired its email and SMS products at the end of 2025. You install each app from the Shopify App Store. Reviews pulls your orders once a day, sends review requests and shows reviews and star ratings on your product pages. Loyalty gives shoppers points, rewards and referrals. Where they stop: review requests only go out for orders Yotpo pulled, a broken connection can go 5 days before Yotpo warns you, and points on canceled or partly refunded orders often need fixing by hand. AI agents do that checking.
What the Yotpo app for Shopify does now
Yotpo used to sell reviews, loyalty, email and text messages to Shopify stores. That changed. Yotpo's own page says it is sunsetting its Email and SMS products, with full deprecation on December 31, 2025, and it points stores to Attentive or Omnisend for email and texts. Its products today are Reviews & UGC, Loyalty & Referrals, and Discover.
So when you search for the Yotpo app for Shopify, you find two apps. Yotpo: Product Reviews App collects and shows reviews, photos and star ratings. Yotpo: Loyalty Rewards Program runs points, rewards and referrals. Both need your Shopify orders to work, and both have work that lands on your team after setup.
Two Yotpo apps for Shopify, and what each does
Both are made by Yotpo and installed from the Shopify App Store. Many stores use both.
Yotpo: Product Reviews App
- How it works
- You install Yotpo Product Reviews & UGC, and a setup wizard walks you through the review request email and the Reviews Widget. Once a day Yotpo pulls the orders your store processed and, by default, sends a review request 14 days after each order, with up to two reminders. Reviews show on your product pages and, by default, in Shopify's Shop app too.
- Good for
- Stores that want review requests sent by themselves and reviews on each product page. The listing shows Free, Starter and Pro plans and a 4.8 rating from 4,637 reviews.
- Where it breaks
- Yotpo only pulls orders with certain order statuses, and sends no requests for orders older than 180 days. Shop app reviews have no title and can't be moderated in bulk. Many low reviews from the past year say support was slow and some features moved to higher plans.
Yotpo: Loyalty Rewards Program
- How it works
- You install Yotpo Loyalty Rewards Referral, create your Yotpo account and turn the program on, since it starts paused. Shoppers earn points for purchases, swap points for discounts and refer friends. The Pro plan adds a rewards page, more ways to earn, redeeming points at checkout, and Klaviyo and ReCharge connections.
- Good for
- Stores that want repeat buyers to come back for points and rewards. The listing shows a Free plan for stores under 100 monthly orders, a Pro plan, and a 4.7 rating from 970 reviews.
- Where it breaks
- Shopify customer accounts have to be on. Yotpo says points on canceled orders are not refunded on their own, and points spent on a fixed reward come back only on a full refund.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents check each day that your shipped Shopify orders reached Yotpo and got a review request, read new reviews and send unhappy ones to your team the same day, and check points on canceled and refunded orders against your rules.
- Good for
- Stores where someone now checks Yotpo by hand for missing orders, bad reviews and points that didn't come back.
- Where it breaks
- Public replies to reviews, and anything your rules keep for a person, like a large points fix, go to your team.
How to connect Yotpo to Shopify

- 6
Check that orders reach YotpoYotpo pulls your past orders once after setup and sends their review requests within 48 hours, then pulls new orders once a day. After a few days, check that new orders show up in Yotpo and that your order statuses are ones Yotpo pulls.
Where the Yotpo Shopify app stops
Both apps do what Yotpo's pages say. The work left is in the orders that never reach Yotpo, the points that don't come back, and the reviews that need an answer.
Review requests depend on orders arriving. Yotpo's troubleshooting guide says it only pulls orders with certain statuses, and that a problem with your store's login details can break the connection. Yotpo only warns you after 5 days with no orders, and after the fix it can take up to 48 hours for review emails to start again. Orders older than 180 days never get a request. Nothing lists the shipped orders that were never asked for a review.
Points need fixing by hand. Yotpo's refund page says canceled orders paid fully with rewards don't get their points back on their own, and other canceled orders don't either. Someone opens each customer's Yotpo Loyalty profile and changes the balance. Points spent on a fixed reward come back only on a full refund, so a partial refund leaves the customer short unless someone steps in.
Shop app reviews need their own care. Yotpo says reviews from Shopify's Shop app have no title and can't be handled with bulk actions. Each one is managed in the Shop app on its own.
And reviews still need answering. Yotpo collects the one-star review, but your team still has to see it, reply, and fix the order behind it. Low reviews of both Yotpo apps in the Shopify App Store say support can take days, and a few say a Klaviyo connection was cut off after a plan change. With Yotpo's email and texts gone, review and loyalty details now have to reach a different email program.
The agents that do it
Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own Yotpo and Shopify: it makes sure orders get a review request, sends unhappy reviews to your team the same day, and reports which products shoppers are unhappy with.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Yotpo and Shopify and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Does Yotpo still do email and SMS on Shopify?
No. Yotpo says it sunset its Email and SMS products, with full deprecation on December 31, 2025. It points stores to Attentive or Omnisend for email and texts. Yotpo Reviews still sends its own review request emails.
Is the Yotpo app for Shopify free?
Each app has a free plan. The Reviews app lists Free, Starter and Pro plans, and the Loyalty app lists a Free plan for stores with fewer than 100 monthly orders and a Pro plan. Check each listing for what each plan includes.
When does Yotpo send review requests?
Yotpo pulls your orders once a day and, by default, sends the request 14 days after an order is processed. If there's no review, a reminder goes out 5 days later, then a second one. You can change the delay.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
