To connect Calendly to Shopify, you paste Calendly's embed code into your store, so shoppers can book a call or a session without leaving your site. That embed is the Calendly Shopify integration Calendly's help center describes. To get bookings into Shopify as customers or orders, you add a Zapier zap. Where it stops: the embed only shows the calendar, so a booking never becomes a Shopify order or customer on its own. Paid bookings go through Calendly and Stripe, not Shopify checkout. And a zap can't tell a new booking from a reschedule unless you build that in. AI agents check each booking against Shopify and tell your team what doesn't match.
Why a Calendly Shopify integration matters
Many Shopify stores sell something that needs a time on the calendar: a fitting, a lesson, a consult before a big order, a class. Calendly is an easy way to let customers book that time. The trouble is that Calendly and Shopify each keep their own list of who the customer is and what they paid for.
So a real Calendly integration with Shopify has to do more than put a calendar on a page. The person who booked should show up as a Shopify customer. A paid booking should be a sale your team can find. And when someone cancels or moves the time, both programs should say the same thing.
Three ways to connect Calendly and Shopify
The first two come from Calendly. The third is a zap you build yourself.
Embed Calendly on your Shopify store
- How it works
- You copy Calendly's embed code for one event type or your whole booking page, then paste it into a Custom Liquid section in the Shopify theme editor. Calendly's guide covers three kinds: a calendar on the page, a text link that opens a popup, and a floating button on all your pages.
- Good for
- Stores that want customers to book a call or a session on the store's own pages, on any Calendly plan.
- Where it breaks
- The embed shows Calendly inside your page. The booking is saved in Calendly only. Shopify gets no order and no customer from it, and Calendly's guide lists theme fixes for a popup that won't close and a calendar that gets cut off.
Take payment in Calendly with Stripe
- How it works
- On a paid Calendly plan, you connect Stripe and turn on Require payment to book this meeting for an event type. The customer pays while booking, and the meeting is set once the payment goes through.
- Good for
- Paid consults, lessons and deposits where you want the money before the time is held.
- Where it breaks
- The payment goes to Stripe, not Shopify checkout, so it is not in your Shopify orders or reports. Calendly says it does not work out VAT or sales tax, and Apple Pay only shows on a direct Calendly link, not an embedded page.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier's Calendly triggers include Invitee Created or Rescheduled and Invitee Canceled. Its Shopify actions include Create Customer, Create Order and Add Tag to Customer. Zapier's templates make a Shopify customer or a Shopify order for each new Calendly invitee. Shopify is a Premium app on Zapier.
- Good for
- One clear job, like adding each person who books as a Shopify customer with a tag.
- Where it breaks
- Each zap is one trigger and its steps. The new booking trigger also fires on a reschedule, so a zap that makes an order can make a second one for the same appointment. A cancel needs its own zap, and nothing goes back to undo an order.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read each new, moved and canceled Calendly booking, find the matching Shopify customer and order, add or update them, and send your team a short list of what doesn't match.
- Good for
- Stores where bookings and products are both part of the sale, and nobody has the hours to check one against the other.
- Where it breaks
- Anything your rules keep for a person, like a refund on a canceled paid booking, goes to them in one message.
How to add Calendly to Shopify: the steps
These follow Calendly's and Zapier's own pages. Open them for the screens.
- 1
Decide where the booking and the money live
Before you paste anything, agree on one thing: is the booking only a calendar entry, or is it a sale? If it is a sale, decide whether the customer pays in Shopify, in Calendly with Stripe, or later on an invoice.
- 2
Copy your Calendly embed codeIn Calendly, make the embed code for one event type or your booking page. Use the inline calendar or the popup text link for one page, or the popup widget for all pages.
- 3
Add it to a page in ShopifyIn Shopify admin, go to Online Store, then Customize. Select Add section, then Custom Liquid, paste the code in the text box, and select Save. For a button on all pages, go to Online Store, Themes, Edit code, open theme.liquid, and paste the widget code right after the head tag.
- 4
Turn on payment, if the booking is paidIn Calendly, go to Automations, then Integrations and apps, and connect Stripe. Then open the event type, select More options, open Payment, and turn on Require payment to book this meeting.
- 5
Send bookings into Shopify with a zapIn Zapier, start from the template that creates a Shopify customer for each new Calendly invitee. Add a tag so your team can find these customers. Add a second zap on Invitee Canceled if cancels should change anything in Shopify.
- 6
Test a booking, a move and a cancel
Book a time as a customer, move it, then cancel it. Check what shows up in Shopify after each one before you share the page.
What still has to be done by hand
The embed puts a booking page on your store. It does not make Calendly and Shopify agree. A booking made through the embed stays in Calendly. Shopify doesn't get an order or a customer from it, so the person who booked a fitting can be a stranger to your store until they buy something.
Shop owners have asked for more for years. In a Shopify Community thread started in 2021, a service seller wanted each product to open its own Calendly popup and the customer to pay in Shopify checkout. Others asked for an update in 2023 and 2024. No one posted a way to do it with Calendly, and the one working answer was a Shopify booking app instead. In a 2024 thread, a store with more than 20 staff wanted each person to keep their own calendar and still have customers check out in Shopify. The replies pointed to other apps, with limits on staff counts, and the thread was left open.
Paid bookings split the money. With Calendly and Stripe, the payment lands in Stripe, Calendly doesn't add tax, and your Shopify reports never see the sale. Someone has to bring it into the books by hand. A zap closes part of the gap, but Zapier's trigger fires on a new booking or a reschedule, so a moved appointment can make a second order. Then someone finds the extra one and deletes it.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Calendly and Shopify accounts and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Is there a Calendly integration with Shopify?
Calendly's help center connects the two with embed code. You paste it into a Custom Liquid section or your theme, and customers book on your store. It works on all Calendly plans. To get bookings into Shopify itself, you need a tool like Zapier.
Does a Calendly booking create a Shopify customer or order?
Not on its own. The embed saves the booking in Calendly only. Zapier has templates that make a Shopify customer or a Shopify order for each new Calendly invitee.
Can customers pay for a Calendly booking through Shopify checkout?
Not through the embed. Calendly takes payment with Stripe on its paid plans, and the money goes to your Stripe account, not through Shopify.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
