To connect Calendly to Google Calendar, go to Settings, then Scheduling, then Calendars in Calendly, click Connect next to Google Calendar and sign in with your Google account. Calendly then checks the calendars you turn on for busy events and adds each booking to one Google calendar. Where it stops: only events marked Busy block time, bookings land on one calendar only, a client who moves the event in their own calendar changes nothing, and a sync can stop with no warning. Nobody checks for the double booking or follows up after the call. AI agents do that work.
What it takes to connect Calendly to Google Calendar
Calendly sends the booking link. Google Calendar holds the rest of your day. If the two don't agree, a client books a time you are already in a meeting, or a call never shows on your calendar and you miss it.
So connected has to mean two things. Calendly has to see each busy time on the Google calendars that matter, and each new booking has to land on the right one. Calendly's own connection does both. The limits below are the ones a client usually finds first.
Three ways to connect Google Calendar to Calendly
Most people need only the first one. The second is Google's own booking page, for teams that want to drop Calendly.
Calendly's Google Calendar connection
- How it works
- In Calendly, you connect Google Calendar under Settings, Scheduling, Calendars and sign in with Google. You turn on the calendars Calendly checks for conflicts and set one calendar to add events to. You can also have it add your buffer times to Google and sync cancellations and reschedules.
- Good for
- Anyone who books calls with Calendly and keeps their day in Google Calendar. This is the main connection.
- Where it breaks
- Calendly's guide says it adds bookings to one calendar only. Only events marked Busy block time; an event left as Free can be booked over. In Calendly's Community, a 2026 thread on a free plan says the person could not set which calendar was checked, and other threads report busy times still being booked.
Google Calendar appointment schedules
- How it works
- Google Calendar can make its own booking page. You set the length of each appointment and your hours, and Calendar makes a page people book from. You can turn on Check calendars for availability so your other events block time.
- Good for
- Small teams on Google Workspace who want one booking page and no second app.
- Where it breaks
- Google says you can't create an appointment schedule in the Calendar app on a phone, and some features need an eligible Google Workspace or Google One plan. Co-host calendars are not checked by default, so a shared page can double book a teammate.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier can start from Calendly when an invitee books, reschedules, cancels or is marked a no-show, and send that on to another app, like a second Google calendar or a sheet.
- Good for
- A team that needs each booking copied to a shared calendar Calendly won't write to.
- Where it breaks
- It copies what you set up and nothing else. A reschedule or cancel is another step you build, and if one step fails the shared calendar is wrong with no warning. Zapier notes that some Calendly steps need a paid Calendly plan.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read each new booking and the form answers in Calendly, check the day against Google Calendar for clashes, send whoever takes the call a short brief, and follow up the same day on a no-show with a new booking link.
- Good for
- Teams that book client calls all week, where a double booking or a missed call costs a client.
- Where it breaks
- Anything your rules keep for a person, like a reply to an upset client, goes to the owner in one message.
How to connect Google Calendar to Calendly
These follow Calendly's own guide. Open it for the screens.
- 1
Check if it is connected alreadyIf you signed up for Calendly with a Google email address, your calendar may be connected already. Look under Settings, then Scheduling, then Calendars before you add it again.
- 2
Connect Google CalendarClick Connect next to Google Calendar, or + Connect calendar account if you already have one, then Google Calendar. Sign in to your Google account and you come back to Calendly.
- 3
Set which calendars block timeUnder Calendars to check for conflicts, turn on each calendar that holds your meetings. Then open a few of your events in Google Calendar and check they show as Busy, not Free.
- 4
Set where bookings go, and the sync settingsUnder Calendar to add events to, set the one Google calendar for new bookings. Turn on Automatically sync cancellations and reschedules if you want a change in Google to change the booking in Calendly.
- 5
Turn off the extra Google video link, if you use ZoomGoogle Calendar may add its own video link to new events. If your calls are on another app, turn that off in Google Calendar. On a work account, your Google Workspace admin may have to do it.
- 6
Book a test call
Put a Busy block on your Google Calendar, open your booking page and check the time is gone. Then book a test call and check it lands on the right calendar.
Where the Calendly Google Calendar integration stops
The connection stops Calendly from booking over a busy event it can see. Knowing which events it can see, and noticing when it stops seeing them, is still a person's job.
Free events don't count. Calendly's troubleshooting guide says to check that your events are marked Busy and that the calendar holding them is turned on. In a Community thread on the free plan, Calendly's team explained that events marked Free are ignored and can be booked over. When the person turned on a second calendar full of Busy events, the page showed no open times for the month at all.
Bookings go to one calendar. Calendly's guide says it won't add events to any other calendar. If your team works from a shared Google calendar, someone copies each booking over by hand, or builds a zap to do it.
Only your own changes count. If you move or delete the meeting in Google Calendar, Calendly can follow. If the client moves or deletes it in their own calendar, Calendly's guide says nothing changes.
A sync can stop without a warning. In a June 2026 Community thread, a person's Google events stopped blocking time and clients double booked them. The advice was to disconnect and reconnect, and the thread closed with no fix confirmed. A January 2026 thread reports Busy events on the right calendar still being booked, and it also closed with no fix.
And none of it does the work around the call: who booked, what they wrote on the form, whether they showed up, and who sends the next steps.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Calendly and Google Calendar and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
How do I connect Google Calendar to Calendly?
In Calendly, go to Settings, then Scheduling, then Calendars, and click Connect next to Google Calendar. Sign in with Google, turn on the calendars to check for conflicts, and set the one calendar to add events to.
Why is Calendly not blocking times from my Google Calendar?
Check that the calendar with the event is turned on under Calendars to check for conflicts, and that the event is marked Busy, not Free. If it still happens, Calendly's team suggests you disconnect and reconnect the calendar, then contact Calendly Support.
Can Calendly add bookings to more than one Google calendar?
No. Calendly's guide says it adds events to the one calendar you set and won't add them to any other. To copy bookings to a shared calendar, you need a zap or someone to do it by hand.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
