Your monday.com dates on the right Google Calendar

Monday.comGoogle Calendar
The short answer

The monday Google Calendar integration is built into monday.com. For a two-way sync, you add two Google Calendar templates to a board: one makes an event from an item, and one makes an item from a new event. For a one-way view, you sync a Date or Timeline column, and the board shows up in Google Calendar as its own calendar. Where it stops: events go to your default calendar, deleting an item doesn't delete its event, each change to an item uses up one of your plan's monthly integration actions, and the Standard plan gets only 250 of them. AI agents check the board and the calendars each day and fix what doesn't match.

What a monday Google Calendar integration has to do

Most teams plan the work on a monday.com board and plan the day in Google Calendar. When the two don't agree, a client meeting is on the board but not on anyone's calendar, a deadline moves on the board but the old date stays on the calendar, or a meeting that was cancelled is still sitting there as an open item.

So connected has to mean two things. Each person sees the dates that matter to them next to their meetings, on a calendar the team can share. And a change on either side, a new date, a new meeting or a cancelled one, shows on the other side without someone copying it over by hand.

Three ways to connect monday.com and Google Calendar

The first two come from monday.com. The third is a Zapier zap.

The Google Calendar integration templates

How it works
On a board with a Date column, you click Integrate, search for Google Calendar and add two templates. One makes a Google Calendar event when an item is created or changed. The other makes an item when a new event is added to your calendar. monday.com sends the title, start and end time, attendees and description to Google, and brings back the status, location and creator too.
Good for
Teams that book client meetings and want each one on the board as an item, with the same date in both places.
Where it breaks
The item needs a time in its start and end dates, or no event is made. Each change to the item uses one integration action, even a change to a column you didn't map. In monday.com's community, people report events landing on their personal default calendar, extra events made as items change, and events that stay after the item is deleted.

The one-way date column sync

How it works
Open a Date or Timeline column's menu, click Settings, then Customize Date column, and click Sync next to Google Calendar. You set it to show only Items assigned to me, or All items on this board. The board then shows in Google Calendar as a new calendar.
Good for
Anyone who wants to see their board dates next to their meetings, and set Google reminders on them.
Where it breaks
monday.com says it only goes one way: changing a date in Google Calendar does not change the board. It shows dates. It doesn't book meetings or invite anyone.

A Zapier zap

How it works
Zapier's monday.com triggers include New Item in Board and Specific Column Value Changed in Board. Its Google Calendar actions include Create Detailed Event, Update Event, Delete Event and Move Event to Another Calendar.
Good for
Teams that want a deleted item to remove its event, or events moved onto a shared team calendar.
Where it breaks
Each case is a zap you build and keep up: new items, moved dates, deleted items and new events back the other way. When a zap fails, someone has to notice in Zapier and fix the calendar by hand.

Arkeo agents

How it works
Agents read your monday.com boards and your team's Google Calendars each day. They book and move the meetings an item needs, clear events for items that were deleted or done, and tell the item's owner when a date on the board and the calendar don't match.
Good for
Teams that run client work on monday.com boards and book most of it as meetings.
Where it breaks
Anything your rules keep for a person, like moving a client's deadline, goes to the item's owner in one message.

How to set up the Google Calendar monday integration

Five steps, in our words. Each one links to the vendor's own help page for the screens. Integrations are on monday.com's Standard plan and up.

  1. 1

Add a Date column with times

Make sure the board has a Date column, and fill in a start and end time on each item you want on the calendar. Without a time, the template won't make the event.

  2. 2

Add the first template and connect Google

Click the Integrate button at the top right of the board, open the Create tab and search for Google Calendar. Add a template that creates an event from an item. Click Connect, select your Google account and click Allow.

  3. 3

Add the second template for two-way sync

Add a second template that creates an item when a new event is added to Google Calendar. Click the underlined fields to set which columns each part of the event goes to.

Or sync a date column one way

To only see board dates on your calendar, open the Date or Timeline column's menu, click Settings, then Customize Date column, and click Sync next to Google Calendar.

  5. 5

Share the board calendar with your team

In Google Calendar, point to the new calendar under My calendars, click More, then Settings and sharing. Under Shared with, click Add people and groups, set what they can see and click Send.

Where the monday.com Google Calendar sync stops

The templates move dates and meetings between the two. The work in the middle is keeping them right after that, and monday.com's own pages and community show where it falls back on a person.

Deleting doesn't carry across. In a monday.com community thread, a monday.com team member called it a known limitation that deleting an item doesn't delete its calendar event, and deleting an event doesn't delete the item. A cancelled meeting stays on the board, or a dropped task stays on the calendar, until someone clears it by hand.

Changes use up your plan. monday.com says each change to an item uses an integration action, even a change to a column the template doesn't use. The Standard plan has 250 integration actions a month, and monday.com says a two-way sync with a tool you use daily may not fit that plan. Pro has 25,000. monday.com emails your admins at 50, 75 and 100 percent, and says that once you go over, the way to keep integrations going is to upgrade.

And the templates can make more than you asked for. In two monday.com community threads, people report that the create-or-update template makes an event for each new item, not just items with a meeting date, and that a change to a task can make another event. Someone then cleans the calendar up by hand.

The agents that do it

Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own monday.com and Google Calendar. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions

Is my customers' information safe?

Yes. Agents work in your own monday.com and Google Calendar and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.

Does monday.com sync with Google Calendar both ways?

Yes, if you add both Google Calendar templates to a board: one makes events from items, the other makes items from new events. The date column sync is one way only, so changes in Google Calendar don't reach the board.

Can I set which Google Calendar monday.com uses?

Not in the two-way templates, by many reports in monday.com's community: events go to the connected account's default calendar. The date column sync makes a new calendar for the board, which you can share. Zapier has a Move Event to Another Calendar action.

Which monday.com plan do I need for the Google Calendar integration?

Integrations are on the Standard plan and up. Standard has 250 integration actions a month and Pro has 25,000. monday.com says a daily two-way sync may not fit the Standard plan.

What does it cost?

You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
