The Mailchimp monday integration comes in two kinds. monday's own Mailchimp integration adds a contact to a Mailchimp list when an email lands in a board column, makes a board item for each new subscriber, and posts a campaign's results to an item. A Zapier zap can do more, like add a tag when an item moves to a group. Where it stops: monday's version sends only the email address, so a list with other required fields won't take it. It runs on monday's Standard plan and up, inside a monthly count of actions. And people who unsubscribed can't be added back by a zap or by you. Someone still checks who got added and who didn't. AI agents do that work.
What a Mailchimp monday integration has to do
Your team tracks leads, clients or events on a monday.com board. Your email goes out from Mailchimp. When the two don't talk, someone copies each new email address from the board into Mailchimp, then goes back to the board to note how the last campaign did.
So connected has to mean three things. New people on the board land in the right Mailchimp audience, with their name and the right tag, not just an email. People who unsubscribe show up as unsubscribed on the board, so nobody adds them back by hand. And each campaign's opens and clicks reach the board without anyone pasting numbers.
Ways to connect Mailchimp and monday.com
The first is made by monday. The second fills the gaps with Zapier.
monday's Mailchimp integration
- How it works
- On your board you click Integrate, open the Create tab and search Mailchimp. monday's help lists four templates, among them: when an email is added to a column, create a contact in a list; when a contact subscribes to a list, create an item in a group; and some time after a campaign is sent, create an item with its statistics. Mailchimp lists it as free on its own integrations page.
- Good for
- Teams on monday's Standard plan or higher who want new subscribers on a board and campaign results on an item.
- Where it breaks
- monday's help says the template only adds an email to a Mailchimp list, and won't work if that list has other required fields. It doesn't send names or tags. It also fires again when someone edits an email that is already in the column. Integrations need the Standard plan, which has 250 integration actions a month.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier's Mailchimp triggers include New Subscriber and New Unsubscriber, and its actions include Add/Update Subscriber and Add Subscriber to Tag. monday.com triggers include Item Moved to Group, and actions include Create Item and Update Item. One template adds subscribers to a Mailchimp tag when items are moved to a group in monday.com.
- Good for
- Adding a tag when a lead moves to a group, or marking an item when that person unsubscribes.
- Where it breaks
- In Zapier's community, a zap that tried to add people who had likely unsubscribed before failed with a Member In Compliance State error, and the fix was a Find Subscriber step and a filter first. Another thread reports duplicate items on a board from a subscriber zap, which Zapier support logged as a Mailchimp bug. A zap does one person per run, going forward, so it doesn't fix the people already on your list.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read new items on your board, check each person's status in Mailchimp first, and add them to the right audience with their name and tags. If someone can't be added, they post why on the item. After each campaign, they post its opens, clicks and unsubscribes to the board.
- Good for
- Teams that run leads or clients on monday.com and send email to them from Mailchimp each week.
- Where it breaks
- Anything your rules keep for a person, like who goes on a list after they asked to leave, goes to the owner in one message.
How to set up monday's Mailchimp integration
Steps 1 to 4 follow monday's own guide. Step 5 adds a zap for what the templates don't do.
- 1
Check your list's required fieldsIn Mailchimp, look at which fields your audience requires. monday's template only sends the email address, so a list that also requires a name will turn it away.
- 2
Open the integration on your boardOn the board, click Integrate at the top right. On the Create tab, search for Mailchimp or click its banner to see the templates.
- 3
Connect your Mailchimp account
Click a template, log in with your Mailchimp details, and click Allow so monday.com can reach your account.
- 4
Fill in the template and watch your actionsSet the column, list and group, then save it. Each run uses integration actions. To see how many are left, click Integrate, then the Manage tab, then Account usage.
- 5
Add a zap for tags and unsubscribes
To tag people when an item moves, start with monday.com's Item Moved to Group and add Mailchimp's Add Subscriber to Tag. Put a Find Subscriber step and a filter first, so the zap skips anyone who isn't subscribed.
What still has to be done by hand
The templates move an email address and a few numbers. Keeping the list and the boards in step is still a person's job.
Only the email goes across. monday's help says the template will only add an email to a Mailchimp list, and if the list has other required fields, the template will not work. Names, companies and tags on the board stay on the board. Someone types them into Mailchimp, or builds a zap for each one.
Unsubscribed people can't be added back. Mailchimp's help says contacts who unsubscribe themselves have to sign up again through your signup form. A zap that tries anyway stops with a Member In Compliance State error. The item on the board looks fine, so someone has to notice the error in Zapier, find the person, and mark them.
The action count runs out. monday's help says integrations need the Standard plan and up, and Standard has 250 integration actions a month. A new item that fills in a status, tag, people or dropdown column uses one action for each of those, plus one for the item.
Nothing checks for doubles. A subscriber can come back as a second item, and a changed email fires the template again. Someone still cleans up the board.
The agents that do it
Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own Mailchimp and monday.com. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Mailchimp and monday.com and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Does monday.com integrate with Mailchimp?
Yes. monday has its own Mailchimp integration with four templates. You add it from a board by clicking Integrate and searching Mailchimp. monday's help says integrations are on the Standard plan and up.
Can monday.com send names and tags to Mailchimp?
Not with monday's own templates. They send only the email address. A Zapier zap can add a subscriber to a tag when an item moves to a group, and can send other fields with Add/Update Subscriber.
Why isn't my contact showing up in Mailchimp?
Two common reasons. Your list may require a field the template doesn't send, like a name. Or the person unsubscribed before, and Mailchimp's help says they have to sign up again on your form.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
