How to connect Smartsheet to SharePoint: the Bridge SharePoint integration, a published sheet on a SharePoint page, and Power Automate or Zapier, where each Smartsheet and SharePoint integration stops, and how AI agents check the files and rows each week.

Smartsheet rows and SharePoint files that agree

Smartsheet
The short answer

For a Smartsheet and SharePoint integration, there are three ways. Bridge by Smartsheet can turn a new or changed sheet row into a SharePoint list item, and back. You can publish a sheet or dashboard and show it on a SharePoint page with the Embed web part. Or Power Automate or Zapier can copy rows and files between them. Where they stop: Bridge can't move files, the page view is read only, Microsoft's Smartsheet connector can add rows but not update them, and nothing checks that each row in the sheet has its files in SharePoint. AI agents do that check and chase what's missing.

What a Smartsheet and SharePoint integration has to do

Many teams plan the work in Smartsheet and keep the files in SharePoint. A row says the client's papers are in. The folder says they aren't. Or the papers are in a Smartsheet attachment that nobody can find from SharePoint, so someone saves a second copy by hand.

So connected has to mean two things. People who live in SharePoint can see where the work stands. And the status in each Smartsheet row matches the files in SharePoint. Smartsheet and Microsoft give you ways to do the first part. The second part is still a person's job.

Three ways to connect Smartsheet with SharePoint

Many teams use the second one for status and the first or third for rows.

Bridge by Smartsheet

How it works
Smartsheet's own tool for workflows between programs. Its SharePoint integration can act in Smartsheet when SharePoint changes, or the other way. Smartsheet's examples: a new row makes a SharePoint list item, and a deleted row updates the list.
Good for
Teams that keep a SharePoint list, like a client or project list, that has to match a sheet.
Where it breaks
It works only with SharePoint Online, and your Smartsheet System Admin has to give you Bridge access. A Smartsheet employee wrote in the Smartsheet Community that Bridge can't pass attachments or files, only a link to them.

A published sheet on a SharePoint page

How it works
You publish a Smartsheet sheet, report or dashboard, copy its embed code, and paste it into an Embed web part on a SharePoint page. Publishing needs a Business or Enterprise plan.
Good for
Showing status to people who open the SharePoint site but don't use Smartsheet.
Where it breaks
The page view is a window, not a link between the two. A published dashboard refreshes every 10 minutes and stops working if the person who published it loses access. Microsoft says SharePoint takes only iframe embed code, and an admin may have to allow the site first.

Power Automate or Zapier

How it works
Microsoft's Smartsheet connector can start a flow when a row is created or a sheet is updated, and can insert a row. Zapier's Smartsheet triggers include New Row, Updated Row and New Attachment, and its SharePoint actions include Upload File, Create List Item and Update List Item.
Good for
One fixed routine, like saving each new attachment to a SharePoint folder.
Where it breaks
Microsoft's list of Smartsheet actions has Insert row but no action to update a row or add a file. Each case is a step you build and keep up, and when one fails, someone has to notice it.

Arkeo agents

How it works
Agents read each Smartsheet row and the client's SharePoint folder, find rows waiting on files, remind the client or the owner, and mark the row when the file comes in.
Good for
Teams that track client work in Smartsheet and keep the files in SharePoint, and lose hours checking one against the other.
Where it breaks
Anything your rules keep for a person, like a client who still hasn't sent papers after three reminders, goes to the owner in one message.

How to connect Smartsheet to SharePoint: six steps

Steps 1 to 3 set up Bridge. Steps 4 to 6 put a sheet on a SharePoint page. Open each vendor guide for the screens.

  1. 1

    Get Bridge access

Ask your Smartsheet System Admin to confirm your account has Bridge, add you to it, and send you your Bridge login address.

  2. 2

    Connect SharePoint in Bridge

Sign in to Bridge, open the Integrations page, select SharePoint and follow the prompts to connect your SharePoint Online account.

  3. 3

    Build one workflow

Start small, like making a SharePoint list item when a row is added to your sheet. Test it on a copy of the sheet before you turn it on for the real one.

  4. 4

Publish the sheet you want to show

In the sheet, select Publish on the right feature bar and turn a publish option ON. Select Get Link and copy the embed code. Set who can open the link first: anyone, or only people on your Smartsheet plan.

  5. 5

Add it to a SharePoint page

On the SharePoint page, click Edit, open the Toolbox, select See all web parts and add Embed. Select Edit properties and paste the code into the Website address or embed code box.

  6. 6

Ask your admin if SharePoint blocks it

If you see Embedding content from this website isn't allowed, a site collection admin has to allow the site under HTML Field Security in Site settings.

Where the Smartsheet SharePoint integration stops

Rows can move. Files mostly don't. In a Smartsheet Community thread about sending form attachments to SharePoint, a Smartsheet employee wrote that Bridge can't pass attachments or files, and that Data Shuttle only reads the cells. The answer was to put a link to the file in a cell instead. The person who asked said their team wrote its own script to pull the files out. Teams without someone to write one save each file to SharePoint by hand.

Going the other way has its own gap. Smartsheet's guide to attaching online files lists OneDrive but not SharePoint, and says you must own the OneDrive file. Files someone shared with you can't be attached. So many teams paste SharePoint links into cells, and the links break when a folder is moved or renamed.

Flows hit limits too. Microsoft's Smartsheet connector can insert a row but has no action to update one, so a flow can't mark a row done when the file lands in SharePoint.

The page view only shows. A published dashboard refreshes every 10 minutes, and Smartsheet warns that a link anyone can open can show your data outside the company. And nothing above checks the job itself: that each client row marked complete has all the files it needs in the client's SharePoint folder.

The agents that do it

Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own Smartsheet and SharePoint. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions

Is my customers' information safe?

Yes. Agents work in your own Smartsheet and SharePoint and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.

Does Smartsheet have a SharePoint integration?

Yes, through Bridge by Smartsheet. It can act on sheet rows when a SharePoint list changes, and the other way. It works only with SharePoint Online, and your System Admin has to give you Bridge access.

Can I show a Smartsheet sheet in SharePoint?

Yes. Publish the sheet, report or dashboard in Smartsheet, copy the embed code, and paste it into an Embed web part on a SharePoint page. Publishing needs a Business or Enterprise plan.

Can Smartsheet attachments be saved to SharePoint?

Not with Bridge. A Smartsheet employee wrote in the Smartsheet Community that Bridge can't pass files. Zapier has a New Attachment trigger for Smartsheet and an Upload File action for SharePoint that you can build into a zap.

What does it cost?

You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
