Your monday.com boards and SharePoint folders, in step

Monday.com
The short answer

You can set up a monday SharePoint integration two ways: Power Automate with the monday connector, or a Zapier zap. A flow can start when an item is created or a column changes on a monday.com board, then make a folder, a file or a list item in SharePoint. Where it stops: the monday connector needs a paid app in monday.com and a premium Power Automate plan, the Files column can be read but not written, dates come across in UTC, and a new file in a subfolder doesn't start a flow. Nobody checks that each client folder has what it needs. AI agents do that work.

What a monday SharePoint integration has to do

Your team tracks the work on monday.com boards. The documents live in SharePoint: contracts, plans, reports, client files. When the two are apart, someone makes each folder by hand, pastes its link into the board, and opens SharePoint to check whether the file came in before they can mark the item done.

So connected has to mean two things. A new client or project on the board gets its SharePoint folder, with the link on the item. And when a file lands or changes in SharePoint, the board knows. The ways below do parts of this.

Ways to connect monday.com with SharePoint

Power Automate fits teams already on Microsoft 365. Zapier fits teams that use it for other apps.

Power Automate with the monday connector

How it works
Microsoft lists a monday connector, published by Plugin Genie. It starts a flow when an item is created or a column changes on a board, and can create items, updates and subitems. In the same flow, SharePoint's connector can create a folder, a file, a list item or a sharing link.
Good for
Microsoft 365 teams who want a SharePoint folder made for each new board item.
Where it breaks
Microsoft's page says you need the Microsoft Power Automate app from the monday.com marketplace with a paid plan, and the connector is Premium in Power Automate. The Files column is read only, and Formula, Time Tracking and Auto Number columns aren't supported.

A Zapier zap

How it works
Zapier can start from a new item, a column change or an item moved to a group in monday.com, or from a new or changed file or list item in SharePoint. It can then create a SharePoint folder, upload a file, or create or update a list item, and create items in monday.com.
Good for
Teams that want a folder per new item, or SharePoint files sent to a monday.com column, without Power Automate.
Where it breaks
Zapier marks the SharePoint templates as Premium, and its help says only monday.com Standard plans or higher can connect. The New File in Folder trigger leaves out subfolders, and New File in Subfolders only looks one level down.

Arkeo agents

How it works
Agents see a new client on the board, make the client's SharePoint folders from your template, and post the link on the item. Each week they check each folder against your document list, remind the client about what's missing, and chase late or unowned items on the board.
Good for
Service teams that run client work on monday.com and keep client files in SharePoint.
Where it breaks
Anything your rules keep for a person, like approving a document or a client exception, goes to the owner in one message.

How to connect monday.com to SharePoint with Power Automate

These follow Microsoft's connector guides. Open them for the screens.

  1. 1

Add the Power Automate app in monday.com

In monday.com, search the app marketplace for Microsoft Power Automate, add it to your account and sign up for one of its plans. You also need a Power Automate plan.

  2. 2

Start a flow from the board

In Power Automate, search for the monday connector and add a trigger, like When an item is created. Sign in and authorize monday.com when it asks.

  3. 3

    Add the SharePoint step

Add a SharePoint action, like Create new folder for a client folder, Create file, or Create item for a list. Use a site and folder that already exist.

  4. 4

Send the link back and check the fields

Use Create sharing link for a file or folder, then a monday action to post it as an update on the item. Dates going into monday.com must be YYYY-MM-DD and in UTC, or the field stays blank or comes out hours off.

  5. 5

    Test, and watch your usage

Create a test item on the board and check the folder and the link. Add the Power Automate App Usage view to a board to see how many runs you use against your plan.

Where the monday SharePoint integration stops

A flow makes the folder or copies the file. Checking that the right documents are in it, and that the board matches, is still a person's job.

Some columns don't come across. Microsoft's page for the monday connector says the Files column is read only, and Formula, Time Tracking, Auto Number, Dependency and Progress Tracking columns aren't supported at all. A flow can't put a file into the Files column, and it can't read a total in a formula column.

Dates drift. The same page says monday.com only takes dates and times in UTC, so a time sent from an Eastern office lands 5 hours off unless the flow converts it. A date in the wrong format shows up blank.

Subfolders are missed. Microsoft says its When a file is created in a folder trigger, now marked deprecated, doesn't fire for files added in a subfolder, and you need more triggers to cover them. Zapier's trigger also leaves out subfolders. If your client folders have subfolders, a contract saved one level down never reaches the board.

Connections reset. If the Power Automate app is removed and added again in monday.com, Microsoft says the sign-in resets and the flow stops until someone signs in again under Data, then Connections.

And no flow checks the work itself: the client folder still missing a signed form, or the item marked done while the file sits in review.

The agents that do it

Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own monday.com and SharePoint. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions

Is my customers' information safe?

Yes. Agents work in your own monday.com and SharePoint and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.

Does monday.com integrate with SharePoint?

Yes, through a connector. Microsoft lists a monday connector for Power Automate that works next to its SharePoint connector, and Zapier connects monday.com and SharePoint too.

Can I create a SharePoint folder for each new monday.com item?

Yes. In Power Automate, start from When an item is created in the monday connector and add SharePoint's Create new folder action. Zapier has a ready-made zap for the same job.

Why didn't my flow fire when a file was added in SharePoint?

If the file went into a subfolder, the When a file is created in a folder trigger doesn't fire. Microsoft says to add more triggers to cover subfolders.

What does it cost?

You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
