Shopify orders as ClickUp tasks that stay right

ShopifyClickUp
The short answer

ClickUp doesn't build its own Shopify ClickUp integration. Its integrations page sends you to Zapier, Make, webhooks or its API, so most stores use a Zapier zap that makes a ClickUp task for each new Shopify order. Shopify Flow can also send orders to ClickUp on the Grow plan and up. Where it stops: the zap makes the task, but a refund, a cancel or a shipped order doesn't change it unless you build that too, finding the right task again takes an order number field you set up, and a zap that fires twice makes two tasks. AI agents keep the task list matched to the store.

What a Shopify ClickUp integration has to do

Some orders need people, not just a label. A custom piece, a wholesale order, a gift note, a damaged item to replace. If your team plans its work in ClickUp, those orders need to show up there as tasks, with the details someone needs to do the job.

So a good connection does two things. It makes the task when the order comes in. And it keeps that task right when the order changes: paid, refunded, canceled or shipped. The first part is easy to set up. The second part is where most of the work is.

Three ways to connect Shopify to ClickUp

None of them come from Shopify or ClickUp as a ready app. Each one is a set of steps you build.

A Zapier zap

How it works
Zapier's template Create tasks in ClickUp for new orders in Shopify starts from a New Order in Shopify and makes a task with ClickUp's Create Task step. Shopify also has triggers for paid, canceled, fulfilled and refunded orders, and ClickUp has steps to update a task, add a comment or set a custom field.
Good for
Stores that want one task per order in one ClickUp list, with no code.
Where it breaks
Each change to an order is another zap. Zapier's ClickUp guide says some steps need Space, Folder or List IDs you may have to find through ClickUp's API, and guest users can't use it. In Zapier's Community, closing the right task when an order ships took an extra search step and a unique order number field.

A Make scenario

How it works
Make has ClickUp and Shopify modules you join in a scenario. ClickUp can watch for new or changed tasks and add tags, checklists and tracked time. Shopify modules can get and update orders, customers and products.
Good for
Teams that want more steps in one flow, like checking the order first and then making the task in the right list.
Where it breaks
You build and test each path yourself, and ClickUp's limit of 100 requests a minute on most plans applies here too. When a step fails, someone has to see the error and run it again.

Shopify Flow with a web request

How it works
Shopify Flow can run when an order comes in and use its Send HTTP request step to call ClickUp's API and make a task. You keep the ClickUp key in Flow's secrets.
Good for
Stores on Grow, Advanced or Plus with someone who can set up an API call.
Where it breaks
Shopify says Send HTTP request is only on the Grow, Advanced and Plus plans. Flow waits up to 30 seconds for an answer, and if the request fails it stops the run and skips the rest of the steps. You write the task fields by hand in the request.

Arkeo agents

How it works
Agents read each order, refund and shipment in Shopify, make the ClickUp task with what the person doing the job needs, update or close it when the order changes, and check open tasks each day so nothing late is left sitting.
Good for
Stores where orders turn into real work for a team, and a missed change costs a customer.
Where it breaks
Anything your rules keep for a person, like a refund over a set amount, goes to your team in one message.

How to set up the ClickUp Shopify integration with Zapier

Most stores start with a zap. These follow Zapier's own pages. Open them for the screens.

  1. 1

Set up a ClickUp list and an order number field

Make one ClickUp list for store orders. Add a custom field for the Shopify order number. You will need it later to find the right task again.

  2. 2

    Connect ClickUp to Zapier

You need to be an owner, admin or member in ClickUp; guests can't connect. In Zapier, add a new connection, find ClickUp and click Allow.

    Zapier's ClickUp guide →

  3. 3

    Start from the template

Open Zapier's template Create tasks in ClickUp for new orders in Shopify. Connect your store, then set the list, the task name and the order number field on the Create Task step.

  4. 4

Add a zap for each change you care about

For shipped, canceled or refunded orders, start a zap from that Shopify trigger, find the task by the order number field, then update or close it. In Zapier's Community, the search had to return one task or the step failed.

  5. 5

Test with a real order, then a refund

Place a test order and check the task. Then refund it and check the task changed. Look at the zap history for runs on the same order twice.

Where the Shopify ClickUp integration stops

A zap makes a task when an order comes in. Keeping that task matched to the order, after the order changes, is still a person's job, or a pile of extra zaps.

A new task doesn't know when the order changes. Each change is its own trigger in Zapier: paid, canceled, fulfilled, refunded. In a 2025 Zapier Community thread, a store wanted to close the ClickUp task when the Shopify order shipped. The archive step failed because the search found several tasks at once. The fix was a custom field with a unique order number and a search on it before each update.

Orders can come through twice. In another Zapier Community thread, the same Shopify order ran the zap twice about 60 seconds apart, and each run made a new record downstream. Without a filter on the order number, ClickUp gets two tasks for one order.

Busy days hit a limit. ClickUp's API docs say the Free Forever, Unlimited and Business plans allow 100 requests a minute. A sale day with a search and an update on each order can go past that.

Shopify Flow stops on errors. Shopify's docs say a request that fails ends the run and skips the steps after it.

And none of it checks the work. Nobody gets told that a task for a paid order is three days old with no owner, or that a refunded order still has someone making it.

The agents that do it

Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own Shopify and ClickUp. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions

Is my customers' information safe?

Yes. Agents work in your own Shopify and ClickUp and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.

Does ClickUp have a Shopify integration?

Not one built by ClickUp. ClickUp's integrations page lists Zapier, Make, webhooks and its API as the ways to connect other apps, and Zapier has a template that makes a ClickUp task for each new Shopify order.

Can a Shopify order close its ClickUp task when it ships?

Yes, with a second zap. It starts from a fulfilled order in Shopify, finds the ClickUp task by an order number field, and closes it. The search has to return one task, or the step fails.

Can I connect Shopify to ClickUp without Zapier?

Yes. Make has modules for both apps, and on Shopify's Grow, Advanced or Plus plans, Shopify Flow can send each order to ClickUp's API with its Send HTTP request step.

What does it cost?

You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
