The main HubSpot Google Sheets integration is HubSpot's free Google Sheets app. It adds two workflow actions: one adds a new row to a sheet, and one updates a row that matches. You need a Professional or Enterprise plan to use workflows. You can also use Zapier, which works in both directions, or export a list from HubSpot and open it in Sheets. Where it stops: data only goes from HubSpot to the sheet, dates arrive as long numbers, a slow request can add the same row twice, and a sheet edited by hand drifts away from the CRM. AI agents keep the sheet and HubSpot in agreement and tell you what doesn't match.
What a HubSpot Google Sheets integration has to do
Most teams on HubSpot still keep a sheet somewhere. It holds the commission math, the territory list, the weekly numbers for the owner, or the list a manager cleans up by hand. If the sheet and HubSpot don't agree, someone spends Monday morning copying deals across and fixing the dates.
So a good connection does two things. It gets the right HubSpot fields into the sheet, in a form people can read. And it keeps the two the same after that, so a deal that changes stage in HubSpot changes in the sheet, and a fix made in the sheet doesn't get lost.
Four ways to connect HubSpot and Google Sheets
Most teams start with HubSpot's own app if their plan has workflows.
HubSpot's Google Sheets workflow actions
- How it works
- A free app in the HubSpot Marketplace. It adds two actions to workflows: Create Google Sheet row, which adds a new row each time a record goes through the workflow, and Update data in a Google Sheet, which finds a row by a value like an email and changes it. Workflows need a Professional or Enterprise plan.
- Good for
- Teams on a Professional plan who want new deals, contacts or tickets in a sheet without exporting.
- Where it breaks
- Data only goes from HubSpot to the sheet. HubSpot's guide says dates come across as long numbers, a slow request can add a duplicate row, and the sheet must not be typed into. The app is rated 2.8 out of 5 from over 250 reviews, and the most common complaints are errors, dates and mappings that reset when a workflow is edited.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier connects HubSpot triggers like New Deal, Updated Deal Stage or New Contact to Google Sheets actions like Create Spreadsheet Row, Update Spreadsheet Row and Lookup Spreadsheet Row. It also works the other way: a New or Updated Spreadsheet Row can create or update a contact in HubSpot.
- Good for
- Teams without a Professional plan, or who need the sheet to send changes back into HubSpot.
- Where it breaks
- Each zap does one job, so a sheet that needs new rows, updates and deletes needs several. Someone has to watch for zaps that fail, and a row typed with a wrong email can create a new contact.
Export and open in Sheets
- How it works
- From a contacts, companies or deals view, select Export, set the file type to CSV, XLS or XLSX, and HubSpot emails you a download link. You open the file in Google Sheets.
- Good for
- A one time report, or a monthly list for a manager.
- Where it breaks
- It is a copy the day you made it. HubSpot's links expire after 30 days, and someone has to run the export again each time the numbers are needed.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read the deals, contacts and stages in HubSpot, write them into your sheet in plain dates and names, update the rows that changed, and compare the sheet to HubSpot each week. When a row was edited by hand, they check it and update HubSpot or flag it.
- Good for
- Teams whose sheet is the one the owner reads, and nobody has the hours to keep it right.
- Where it breaks
- Changes your rules keep for a person, like a deal amount edited in the sheet, go to the owner in one message before anything in HubSpot changes.
How to set up the HubSpot and Google Sheets integration
These follow HubSpot's guide for its Google Sheets actions. Open it for the screens.
- 1
Get the sheet ready firstPut your column headers in the first row, starting in cell A1, with no blank headers between them. Keep the sheet empty below the headers. Do any math on a second tab that points to this one, because HubSpot says not to type into the sheet it writes to.
- 2
Install the Google Sheets app in HubSpotAdd Google Sheets from the HubSpot Marketplace, or connect it from inside a workflow. Sign in with the Google account that owns the sheet. HubSpot only shows the sheets that user can open.
- 3
Add a Create Google Sheet row actionGo to Automation, then Workflows, and open or create a workflow. Click the plus icon, find Google Sheets, and add Create Google Sheet row. Set the Spreadsheet and the Sheet, then match each Header to a HubSpot Property. Each action can fill up to 20 cells in a row.
- 4
Use Update data in a Google Sheet for changes
To change rows instead of adding new ones, add Update data in a Google Sheet. Set a Lookup column header, like the email column, and the property it matches. Only the first matching row is updated. Set create a new row if none match to Yes if you want new records added too.
- 5
Fix the dates, then test one record
HubSpot sends dates as a count of milliseconds. Add a formula in a spare column to turn them into dates, or format them in the workflow first. Then enroll one test record and check the row before you turn the workflow on.
- 6
For sheet to HubSpot, build a zapIf people edit the sheet and HubSpot should change too, build a Zapier zap from New or Updated Spreadsheet Row to Update Contact or Update Deal in HubSpot. Test it on one row first.
Where the HubSpot Google Sheets integration stops
The app puts HubSpot data in a sheet. What it leaves is keeping the sheet true after that. HubSpot's own guide lists most of the limits.
It only goes one way. Both actions send HubSpot data to the sheet. Nothing a person types in the sheet comes back to HubSpot, and HubSpot says not to type into the sheet it writes to at all. So the sales manager who fixes a close date in the sheet has fixed it in one place only.
It adds rows, it doesn't keep a list. Create Google Sheet row always adds a new row, so a deal that goes through the workflow twice shows up twice. HubSpot says a request that times out can add a duplicate row, which you delete by hand, and that two workflows writing to one sheet can duplicate data. Update data in a Google Sheet changes only the first row that matches.
The data needs cleaning before anyone reads it. Dates arrive as long numbers. In the app's HubSpot Marketplace reviews, the most common complaints are errors from the connection, these dates, mappings that reset when someone edits the workflow, and owner fields that show a number instead of a name.
And it depends on one person. The sheets HubSpot can see are the sheets the connecting user can open. HubSpot says that if that user is deactivated, the Spreadsheet list fails to load, and the workflow stops writing until someone reconnects it.
The agents that do it
Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own HubSpot and Google Sheets. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.
Your CRM stays right without anyone typing.
- Logs emails and callsas they happen
- Checks off the task when the reply landsright away
- Moves the deal to the right stageper deal

- Finds deals with no next stepper deal
- Sends the report to your teamMonday morning

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own HubSpot and Google Sheets and see only the records and sheets their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Is the HubSpot Google Sheets integration free?
HubSpot's listing shows the Google Sheets app as free. To use its actions you need workflows, which come with Professional and Enterprise plans.
Can Google Sheets update HubSpot?
Not with HubSpot's own app. Its actions send data from HubSpot to the sheet only. To send changes from a sheet back into HubSpot, teams use a Zapier zap or an agent that checks each change first.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
