The usual Google Sheets Xero integration is an app from the Xero App Store, like G-Accon for XERO, which runs inside Google Sheets. It pulls Xero reports and data, like Profit and Loss, invoices and contacts, into a sheet on a schedule, and can push rows from a sheet back into Xero as invoices, bank transactions or contacts. Zapier is the other common route, one row or one invoice at a time. Where they stop: the sheet is a copy that is only as fresh as its last refresh, a sorted sheet or a deleted row can make a zap skip rows or run twice, and a row pushed into Xero is only as right as whoever typed it. Nobody checks the sheet against Xero before the numbers reach the owner. AI agents do that checking.
What a Google Sheets Xero integration has to do
Xero keeps the books. But the weekly cash report, the board pack and the price list for invoicing often live in Google Sheets, because a sheet is easy to share and change. So someone copies numbers from Xero into the sheet, or from the sheet into Xero, by hand.
Connected has to mean the sheet shows what Xero shows right now, and anything sent from the sheet to Xero lands right the first time. Apps can move the data. Making sure the two still agree on the day the owner reads the report is still a job.
Three ways to connect Google Sheets with Xero
Most businesses use an app from the Xero App Store. Zapier helps when each new row or each new invoice should set off one step.
G-Accon for XERO
- How it works
- A Google Sheets add-on listed on the Xero App Store. You connect one or more Xero organisations, then pull reports like Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet, or data like invoices, contacts and bank transactions, into your sheet. Refreshes run hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. It can also upload rows in bulk to Xero as invoices, bank transactions, contacts, credit notes, payments and more, and email updated reports.
- Good for
- Owners and bookkeepers who build monthly reports in Sheets, or look at several Xero companies side by side.
- Where it breaks
- The sheet is a copy, as fresh as its last refresh. Uploads can create, update and delete data in Xero, so a wrong row reaches your books in bulk. It is a separate subscription from another company, with its own support.
Other apps on the Xero App Store
- How it works
- Xero's Google Sheets collection lists more apps, each with its own job. Business Importer imports lists and transactions between Excel or Google Sheets and Xero. Mixed Analytics API Client for Sheets pulls Xero data into Sheets and refreshes it on a schedule. Coupler.io and SyncHub send Xero data to Sheets and to other reporting apps.
- Good for
- A one-off bulk import, like loading a year of contacts, or feeding a dashboard.
- Where it breaks
- Each app covers its own slice, with its own setup and its own bill. Xero says it reviews each app in its store, but leaves it to you to judge how well each one works for you.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier starts a zap when a row is added or changed in Google Sheets and can create a sales invoice, a bill, a contact or a bank transaction in Xero. It works the other way too: a new payment, a new sales invoice or a refreshed report in Xero can add a row to your sheet.
- Good for
- One invoice for each new row, or a running log of payments in a sheet.
- Where it breaks
- You need a Zapier account and you build each step. Zapier tracks new rows by their row number, so deleting rows, adding rows in the middle or sorting the sheet can make the zap miss rows or run again on old ones.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read your sheets and your Xero books. Each day they check the sheet for blanks, repeats and odd numbers, compare its totals with Xero, and tell the owner of the sheet what doesn't match. They build invoices in Xero from the work done and chase the invoices that are past due.
- Good for
- Businesses that run reports or billing from a sheet and spend hours each month checking it against Xero.
- Where it breaks
- Anything your rules keep for a person, like approving a bill or a journal, goes to the owner in one message.
How to set up Google Sheets with Xero
Steps 1 to 4 follow G-Accon's listing, and step 5 follows Zapier's own pages. Open them for the screens.
- 1
Install the add-on in Google SheetsFind G-Accon for XERO in the Google Workspace Marketplace and click Install. You need an active Xero account and a Google account.
- 2
Connect your Xero organisationsConnect each Xero company once. After that you refresh with one click, or on a schedule.
- 3
Pull a report or data into a sheetStart with one report, like Profit and Loss, or one list, like unpaid invoices. Check a few lines against Xero before anyone uses the sheet.
- 4
Set the refresh schedule
Set the sheet to refresh hourly, daily, weekly or monthly, to match how often people read it. Put the last refresh time at the top of the sheet so readers know how old it is.
- 5
Or start a zap for one invoice per row
In Zapier, use New Spreadsheet Row in Google Sheets as the trigger and Create Sales Invoice in Xero as the action. Add rows only at the bottom, and turn the zap off before you change the sheet's layout.
What still has to be done by hand between Google Sheets and Xero
The apps move numbers. Whether the sheet and the books still agree is still up to your team.
The sheet is a copy. An app refreshes on its schedule: hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. In between, an invoice paid this morning still shows as unpaid in the sheet. Someone has to know when it last refreshed before they send the report to the owner or chase a customer who already paid.
Zaps lose track of rows. Zapier's own help page says Google Sheets triggers spot new rows by row number. Delete five rows and the next five rows you fill in are skipped. Add a row in the middle and older rows move down, so the zap runs again on data it already sent, which can mean a second invoice in Xero. Sorting the sheet, renaming a column, or renaming the sheet can stop the zap, and frozen, hidden or protected rows can get in the way. Zapier's advice is to turn the zap off before you change the sheet.
Bulk uploads reach your books fast. G-Accon can create, update and delete invoices, contacts, payments and more in Xero straight from a sheet. A wrong amount or a contact typed two ways goes in as it is, and nothing between the sheet and Xero asks if it looks right.
And when the person who built the sheet is away, nobody else knows which tab feeds Xero, or why the totals are off this month.
The agents that do it
Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own Google Sheets and Xero. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Google Sheets and Xero and see only the sheets and records their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Can you connect Google Sheets to Xero?
Yes. The Xero App Store lists apps that connect them, like G-Accon for XERO, Business Importer and Coupler.io. You can also connect them with a Zapier zap.
Can I create Xero invoices from Google Sheets?
Yes. G-Accon can upload invoices to Xero in bulk from a sheet, and a Zapier zap can create a sales invoice in Xero for each new row. Check the rows first, because they go into your books as typed.
Why did my Google Sheets zap skip rows or send them twice?
Zapier tracks new rows by row number. Deleting rows, adding rows in the middle, sorting the sheet or renaming columns throws that off. Add rows only at the bottom, and turn the zap off before you change the sheet.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
