How to connect Google Sheets to Intercom

The Intercom Google Sheets integration: how to get Intercom reports and conversations into Google Sheets and contact lists from Sheets into Intercom, with exports, CSV import or Zapier, where each one stops, and how AI agents do the rest.

Support numbers in your sheet, and contacts that match

Google SheetsIntercom
The short answer

There is no built-in Intercom Google Sheets integration, so most teams use one of three ways. Intercom can export a saved inbox view or a report dataset as a CSV file, and it can email the report export to you on a schedule. Contact lists go the other way through Intercom's CSV Import tool. And Zapier can add a row to a sheet for each new conversation or user. Where they stop: report exports carry no message text, nothing updates the sheet on its own, CSV imports can make duplicate contacts and can't bring in companies, and a person still turns the numbers into a report each week. AI agents do that part.

Why teams want an Intercom Google Sheets integration

Support teams live in Intercom, but the rest of the company reads Google Sheets. Owners want reply times, ratings and the number of open conversations next to sales and churn. Account managers want to know which customers wrote in this week. And the sales team keeps lists in a sheet that should be in Intercom so the right people get the right messages.

So a good connection has to work both ways. Numbers and conversations come out of Intercom into a sheet, on a schedule, without someone exporting them. Contact lists go from a sheet into Intercom without making a second copy of people who are already there. Intercom gives you the pieces for both, but nobody puts them together for you.

Three ways to connect Google Sheets and Intercom

Most teams use the exports first, then add a zap for what has to happen each day.

Intercom's CSV exports

How it works
In the Inbox, open a saved View and select Export as CSV. In Reports, Dataset export lets you set the dates, filters and columns, then Export CSV. Dataset exports can also be scheduled, so a file is emailed to you at the same time each week. You open the file in Google Sheets.
Good for
Monthly or weekly support reports, built from numbers your team already tracks in Intercom.
Where it breaks
Each export is a snapshot, so the sheet is out of date the next day. A View export can't be scheduled. Dataset exports have no message text and go back two years at most. Only one View export can run in a workspace at a time.

Intercom's CSV Import tool

How it works
Download your sheet as a CSV file, then in Intercom open the CSV Import tool and select Import users or Import leads. You match each column, name any custom fields, and tag the list.
Good for
A one-time list from an event, a webinar or an old system.
Where it breaks
It takes users and leads only; Intercom says company data can't be imported by CSV. Intercom warns that a file with both email and user_id can make duplicates of people who have no user_id yet. Imported people who match a message that is turned on get it right away.

A Zapier zap

How it works
Zapier's Intercom triggers include New Conversation, New Closed Conversation, New Conversation Rating and New User. Its Google Sheets actions include Create Spreadsheet Row and Update Spreadsheet Row. A zap can also go the other way, from a new row to Create/Update User in Intercom.
Good for
Teams that want one row per new conversation, rating or signup, without exporting.
Where it breaks
Each zap moves one thing. Reply times and other report numbers aren't triggers, so they still come from an export. A zap that fails stops adding rows, and the sheet doesn't show what's missing.

Arkeo agents

How it works
Agents read your Intercom conversations, tickets and ratings each day, fill in the sheet your team already uses, and write the weekly support report in plain words: what came in, what waited, and which accounts look unhappy.
Good for
Teams where support numbers feed a weekly meeting, and nobody has the hours to build them.
Where it breaks
Anything your rules keep for a person, like contacting an unhappy account, goes to your team first.

How to connect Intercom to Google Sheets: five steps

These follow Intercom's own help pages. Open them for the screens and permissions.

  1. 1

    Export a saved view

In the Inbox, open a saved View under Views and select Export as CSV. You need the Can export conversation data permission. Large views are emailed as a link.

  2. 2

    Schedule a report export

In Reports, open Dataset export, set the dataset, time period and columns, then open the Schedule menu and select New schedule. To change the columns later, you make a new schedule.

  3. 3

Bring a sheet of contacts into Intercom

Download the sheet as a CSV file, up to 20 MB. In Intercom, open the CSV Import tool, select Import users or Import leads, upload, match the columns and tag the list.

    Intercom's import guide →

  4. 4

Add a zap for daily rows

For a row per new conversation, rating or signup, build a zap from Zapier's Google Sheets and Intercom page.

  5. 5

Check for duplicates after each import

Search Intercom for a few emails from the file and make sure each person shows once.

What the Intercom Google Sheets integration leaves to do by hand

None of these ways keeps a sheet current. A View export is a snapshot, and it can't be scheduled. A scheduled Dataset export is emailed to you, and someone still has to open it and paste it into the sheet. Intercom also says Dataset exports carry no message text, so a sheet built from them shows counts and times but not what customers said.

Getting the words out is harder. Intercom says there is no way to download a CSV of all conversation content from the workspace; for that, you go through its API, one conversation at a time. In the Intercom Community thread on exporting conversations, people asked from 2022 to 2026 for a bulk download, and the answers kept pointing to the API or to apps from other makers.

Reports have been patched together for years. In another Community thread, 16 replies from 2020 to 2022 list the ways people got reply times and ratings into Google Sheets: CSV files by hand, dashboards, scripts and add-ons, and several said their method didn't bring reply times across.

Going the other way, Intercom's own import page warns about duplicates when a file has both email and user_id, and says companies can't come in by CSV. A 2026 request on its ideas board asks for duplicate checks for this reason: after each import, someone cleans up by hand.

The agents that do it

Each agent does one job from start to finish in your own Intercom and Google Sheets, and tells your team what it found.

Questions

Is my customers' information safe?

Yes. Agents work in your own Intercom and Google Sheets and see only the inbox and sheets their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.

Does Intercom have a Google Sheets integration?

Not a built-in one. Intercom exports CSV files you can open in Google Sheets, imports contacts from a CSV file, and works with Zapier for rows that come in each day.

Can I export Intercom conversations to Google Sheets?

A saved View exports as a CSV with one row per conversation and a link back to it. The full text of all your conversations can't be downloaded as a CSV; Intercom points to its API for that.

Can I import companies into Intercom from a sheet?

Not by CSV. Intercom's import page says company data can't be imported that way. Users and leads can.

What does it cost?

You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
