Attio vs HubSpot comes down to what you need around the CRM. Attio is a CRM for sales and revenue teams, built around your inbox and calendar, with four plans: Free, Plus, Pro and Enterprise. HubSpot puts its Smart CRM under a set of hubs for marketing, sales, service, content, data and payments, with free tools and Starter, Professional and Enterprise plans. Where both stop: emails from a shared inbox don't always come in, duplicates still need someone to merge them, and the CRM doesn't keep your other programs in line on its own. AI agents can work in either one as the operations layer for that work.
Attio vs HubSpot: what each one is
Attio calls itself the CRM for agentic revenue. You connect your email and calendar, and Attio logs the activity and adds people and companies for you, then fills in details about each one. On top of that it has workflows, sequences, call recording with notes, reports and its own AI, called Ask Attio. Its plans are Free, Plus, Pro and Enterprise, and each one sets how many seats, objects and records you get.
HubSpot calls its CRM AI-powered and flexible. The free CRM has no end date and covers up to two users and 1,000 contacts. Around it sit Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, Content Hub, Data Hub and Revenue Hub, each with Starter, Professional and Enterprise plans, all on the same Smart CRM. HubSpot says its marketplace has over 2,000 apps.

Attio vs HubSpot for a small team: how to tell which fits
Start with two questions. Is the CRM only for selling, or will it also run your marketing emails, your help desk and your website? And how much do you want to build yourself?
If the CRM is for a sales team that lives in email and meetings, Attio is built around that. It adds the people you email, lets you set up your own objects and lists, and keeps sequences and call notes in the same app.
If you want marketing, sales and service in one place, HubSpot is built around that. Its hubs share one CRM, so a lead from a form, a deal in Sales Hub and a ticket in Service Hub sit on the same contact. HubSpot asks for a one-time onboarding on its Professional and Enterprise plans.
Both have a free plan. Try each one with a week of your own email and deals, and see which one your team keeps open.
What still takes the hours in Attio or HubSpot
Some emails never come in. Attio's own help says Microsoft 365 shared inboxes can't be synced, only the Inbox and Sent folders come in, and private calendar events are left out. By default it makes records only for people you have emailed, not for people who email you first and get no reply. So a lead that lands in a shared inbox, like info@, still has to be added by hand.
Duplicates still need a person. HubSpot checks new contacts by email and companies by domain. Its help center says an import row with no unique value becomes a new record, and that companies made by connected apps are not checked by domain at all. Attio finds duplicates by domain and email, but its help says merges happen one pair at a time, and deals and custom objects can't be merged yet.
The CRM doesn't run your other programs. Billing, accounting, projects and support each connect through an app or a Zapier zap, each with its own mapping. When a deal closes, someone still sets up the project, sends the invoice and tells the team.
Reviews point at the same kind of gap. Trustpilot's summary of recent HubSpot reviews says customers find support hard to reach and the platform hard to learn.
What agents do in either one
AI agents work as the operations layer around your CRM. They read your Attio or HubSpot records, add the leads that came in through a shared inbox, flag likely duplicates with the fix, keep deal stages current after each call, and post a pipeline report for the week.
Your team keeps the client relationships. Anything your rules keep for a person, like a discount or a reply to an unhappy client, goes to the owner in one message.
The agents that work in each one
The jobs are the same in either CRM. Each agent does one from start to finish, and your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Attio or HubSpot account and see only the records their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Is Attio better than HubSpot for a startup?
Both have a free plan. Attio's covers up to 3 seats and HubSpot's free CRM up to 2 users and 1,000 contacts. Attio is built around a sales team's inbox and calendar; HubSpot adds marketing, service and content hubs on the same CRM. Try both with your own deals.
Can I move from HubSpot to Attio?
Yes. Attio lists HubSpot among the CRMs you can import from, along with spreadsheets. Check how your deals, notes and emails come across before you turn the old one off.
Do I have to switch to use agents?
No. Agents work in the one you run today, Attio or HubSpot.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
