There are three ways to set up an Attio Stripe integration. Attio's own Stripe app lets a workflow in Attio look up Stripe customers, invoices and subscriptions when it runs. The Stripe Subscriptions app, made by dialed technologies and listed in Attio's apps, copies each subscription into Attio and links it to the person with the same email. Or you build Zapier zaps. Where they stop: a Stripe customer whose email doesn't match Attio is left unlinked, failed payments and disputes don't land on the record, and nobody is told to follow up. AI agents do that follow up.
What an Attio Stripe integration has to do
Many software companies sell in Attio and bill in Stripe. Each one holds half of what your team needs to know about a customer.
Stripe knows who paid, whose card failed and who is set to cancel. Attio is where your team decides who to call. When the two don't agree, a rep pitches an upgrade the week a card failed, or a good account cancels and nobody saw it coming.
So a real connection does two jobs. Each Stripe customer lands on the right person and company in Attio, with their plan and status. And when something changes in Stripe, like a failed card or a cancel at period end, the owner in Attio hears about it while there is still time to act.
Three ways to connect Attio and Stripe
One is Attio's own. The others come from other makers.
Attio's Stripe app
- How it works
- Built by Attio and listed as an official app. You click Connect, sign in to Stripe and approve access. Then you add the Stripe tools to an agent block in an Attio workflow, and the block can look up customers, invoices, subscriptions, disputes and your balance while the workflow runs.
- Good for
- Teams that already use Attio workflows and want a step to check Stripe before it acts.
- Where it breaks
- It looks things up when a workflow runs. Attio's page doesn't describe it copying Stripe data onto your records. Workflows use workspace credits from your Attio plan, and agent blocks use more credits the more they read.
Stripe Subscriptions and Stripe Invoicing apps
- How it works
- Two apps in Attio's app list, made by dialed technologies. Stripe Subscriptions makes a subscriptions object in Attio and keeps it current as subscriptions are created, changed or canceled, matched to people by the Stripe customer's email. Stripe Invoicing creates Stripe invoices from a person or company record, and can start a workflow when an invoice is paid, fails or is voided.
- Good for
- Teams that want each customer's plan, amount and renewal date on their Attio record.
- Where it breaks
- A subscription whose email has no match in Attio still comes in, but it is left unlinked. Making the missing person is off by default. Canceled subscriptions come in by default. If someone edits or deletes the subscriptions object, the app needs Re-verify schema to make it again.
Zapier zaps
- How it works
- Zapier can start on Stripe events like New Customer, New Subscription, Canceled Subscription, Failed Payment, New Dispute and New Refund. Then it creates or updates a record, a note or a task in Attio.
- Good for
- One rule the apps don't cover, like an Attio task for each failed payment.
- Where it breaks
- Each event is another zap to build and keep working. A zap that matches people by email has the same problem as the apps when Stripe has a different email.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents read payments, failed cards and subscriptions in Stripe, find the right person and deal in Attio, and add a note with what happened. They email a customer to update a failed card the same day, and flag renewals 60 days out with payment history attached.
- Good for
- Teams on monthly or yearly plans, where a failed card or a quiet renewal is lost money if nobody acts that week.
- Where it breaks
- Refunds and payouts stay with your team. Anything your rules keep for a person goes to the account owner in one message.
How to set up the Stripe integration in Attio
These follow the app pages in Attio and Stripe's own key guide. Open them for the screens.
- 1
Decide which job you needTo check Stripe inside a workflow, use Attio's Stripe app. To see each plan on the customer's record, use Stripe Subscriptions. To send invoices from Attio, use Stripe Invoicing. Some teams use two.
- 2
Make a restricted key in StripeThe Stripe Subscriptions and Stripe Invoicing apps use your own Stripe key. On the API keys page in Stripe, create a restricted key with only the access the app's page lists.
- 3
Install the app and paste the keyInstall Stripe Subscriptions in your Attio workspace and paste the key into the app's connection field in workspace settings. The app checks the key, makes the subscriptions object and sets up its link to Stripe.
- 4
Set the sync options, then bring in the pastDecide if missing people should be made for you and if canceled subscriptions should come in. Then select Sync all now to bring in the subscriptions you already have.
- 5
Check the ones that didn't link
Filter the subscriptions object for entries with no person. Each one is a customer whose Stripe email doesn't match Attio. Fix the email or link it by hand, and check again each month.
Where the Attio Stripe integration stops
The apps move billing details into Attio. Acting on them is still your team's job.
Emails don't always match. The Stripe Subscriptions app links a subscription to a person by the Stripe customer's email. If none matches, the subscription comes in but stays unlinked. A guide on syncing Stripe with Attio, published by ClonePartner, warns that Stripe customer emails often don't match the emails people use in your product, so matching on email alone can leave much of your billing data unlinked.
The Subscriptions app brings in subscriptions only. Its page lists status, product, price, amount, billing period, trial end and cancel at period end. Each payment, refund and dispute stays in Stripe unless you build more.
Failures are quiet. The same ClonePartner guide says Attio won't tell you when records fail to sync. Stripe's own docs say it tries to send each change for up to three days, that changes can arrive out of order, and that the same change can arrive twice. Revoking the Stripe key stops the app's calls, and editing the subscriptions object means making it again.
And nobody is told. A status that turns past due is a field on a record. Attio's own Stripe app only looks when a workflow runs. So each week someone still filters for failed cards, emails the customer, checks who renews soon and tells the owner.
The agents that do it
Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own Attio and Stripe. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Attio and Stripe and see only what their job needs. Card numbers stay with Stripe, and customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Does Attio have a Stripe integration?
Yes. Attio lists its own Stripe app, which lets workflows look up Stripe data. Its app list also has Stripe Subscriptions and Stripe Invoicing, made by dialed technologies, which bring subscriptions and invoices into Attio. If you are still deciding on a CRM, HubSpot works with Stripe in a different way.
Can I see each customer's plan and renewal date in Attio?
With the Stripe Subscriptions app, yes. It brings in status, product, price, recurring amount, billing period, trial end and the current period's end date, linked to the person with the same email.
Can trial follow ups run from Stripe and Attio?
Yes. Agents can spot trials going quiet and win them back by email, then note what happened on the Attio record, so your team knows which deals need a call.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
