How to connect Salesforce to Stripe

How a Stripe integration with Salesforce works: Stripe's own app for Salesforce, a Zapier zap, or Salesforce's Data 360 connector, where each one stops, and how AI agents keep sales and billing looking at the same numbers.

Stripe payments on the right Salesforce account

SalesforceStripe
The short answer

To connect Salesforce and Stripe, you have three options: the Stripe app for Salesforce Platform, a Zapier zap, or Salesforce's Stripe connector for Data 360, which is still in beta. The Stripe app is the full Stripe integration with Salesforce. It copies customers, invoices and subscriptions into Salesforce. Where it stops: it shows the data but tells no one, and your own fields need setup by hand. When a card fails or a trial goes quiet, AI agents tell the rep and post it on the account.

Why a Stripe integration with Salesforce matters

Sales closes the deal in Salesforce. The money comes in through Stripe. If the two don't talk, a rep can't see that a customer stopped paying, and someone types payments into Salesforce by hand.

So "connected" has to mean two things. What a customer pays, owes and subscribes to in Stripe shows on their account in Salesforce. And when something changes, like a failed card or a cancelled plan, the right person hears about it the same day.

Three ways to connect Stripe and Salesforce

One comes from Stripe, one from Zapier, and one from Salesforce.

The Stripe app for Salesforce Platform

How it works
You install Stripe's app from the Salesforce AppExchange and add your Stripe account. Its Stripe Billing Sync copies customers, invoices, products, prices and subscriptions into Salesforce as they change, or on a schedule. Its flow templates can make a Stripe subscription when an order is turned on in Salesforce.
Good for
Companies on Sales, Revenue or Service Cloud with an admin who can set it up. Stripe says it works best on those core clouds.
Where it breaks
Stripe calls it an integration builder. It fills Stripe's own records in Salesforce, and your own fields take setup by hand (more below). Telling a rep about a failed card is a flow your admin builds and keeps working.

A Zapier zap

How it works
Zapier's templates make a Salesforce opportunity, lead or other record when a new payment, customer or subscription shows up in Stripe.
Good for
Small teams that want each new payer to show up in Salesforce without typing it.
Where it breaks
Each zap is one trigger and one action, and Salesforce is a Premium app on Zapier. Refunds, failed cards and cancellations are each another zap to build and check.

Salesforce's Data 360 Stripe connector

How it works
If you use Data 360, Salesforce's data platform, its Stripe connector brings Stripe data in for reports and customer profiles.
Good for
Teams already on Data 360 that want Stripe numbers next to the rest of their customer data.
Where it breaks
Salesforce marks it as a beta. It only brings data in and sends nothing to Stripe.

Arkeo agents

How it works
Agents read payments, failed payments, refunds and subscriptions in Stripe each day, post what happened as a note on the right Salesforce account, and move the deal or task to match. When a trial stalls or a card fails, they send the next email and tell the account owner.
Good for
Teams where sales needs to know who paid, who didn't and who is ready for more, without opening Stripe.
Where it breaks
Anything your rules keep for a person, like a refund, a dispute or a large customer who cancels, goes to your team in one message.

How to set up the Stripe app for Salesforce

Stripe's install and setup pages have the full screens. These are the parts, in order.

  1. 1

    Start in a sandbox

Stripe has one install for test and one for production. Turn on Lightning Web Security in Salesforce first, at Setup > Session Management > Session Settings.

  2. 2

Install the app and run the wizard

Install it from AppExchange for admins only. Then open Stripe for Salesforce Platform from the App Launcher, click Get Started, and authorize your org.

    Stripe's setup wizard steps →

  3. 3

    Add your Stripe account

Enter your Stripe publishable key and a restricted access key. Install the 2025-04-30 API version when the wizard asks.

  4. 4

    Turn on Stripe Billing Sync

In Account Management, open your Stripe account and set the Sync Type to Real Time, or set up a schedule. Only one can be on at a time.

    Stripe's configuration page →

  5. 5

Test one customer from start to finish

Make a test customer and subscription in Stripe. Check that it lands on the right account in Salesforce, with the right amount, before you set it up in production.

Where the Stripe Salesforce integration stops

The Stripe app gets the billing data into Salesforce. The work left over sits between sales and finance, and Stripe's own pages spell out most of it.

The data shows up, but nobody is told. Say a yearly customer's card fails three months in. The sync updates the record in Salesforce, and that is all. The rep finds out at renewal, when the account is already behind, unless your admin built a flow to warn them.

Your own fields don't come across on their own. Stripe's configuration page says you must add custom fields in Salesforce by hand, and custom field mapping works only for invoices. The scheduled sync can't leave anything out: it syncs all objects or none.

Two flows can feed each other. Stripe warns that a flow that updates a Salesforce account from Stripe, plus one that updates Stripe from that account, makes a loop. An admin has to set up the app's loop checks.

Zaps miss details. Zapier checks Stripe every 15 minutes on its Free plan. In Zapier's community, people building refund zaps find the refund comes in without the customer's email, so they add a step to find the right account. So most weeks, someone in finance still opens Stripe, finds the failed cards and refunds, and messages the reps by hand.

The agents that do it

Each agent does one job from start to finish: some in Stripe, some in your Salesforce, passing the work between them. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions

Is my customers' information safe?

Yes. Agents work in your own Salesforce and Stripe and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. In Stripe, agents can't see full card numbers, and they don't refund anyone without your OK. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.

Does Stripe have its own Salesforce integration?

Yes. Stripe makes the Stripe app for Salesforce Platform, which you install from the Salesforce AppExchange. It adds Stripe customers, invoices, products and subscriptions to Salesforce.

Can Salesforce make a Stripe subscription when a deal closes?

Yes, with the Stripe app. Its flow templates can make or update a Stripe subscription when an order is turned on in Salesforce. Your admin sets up the flow.

Can I take card payments inside Salesforce?

If you use Salesforce Billing, Stripe's Salesforce Billing Extension adds card and ACH payments through Salesforce Billing and Payment Center.

What does it cost?

You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
