The Klaviyo Stripe integration is Klaviyo's own Stripe app, set up in two parts. In Klaviyo, go to Integrations, click Explore apps, find Stripe, click Install, then Connect to Stripe. Then, in Stripe, add the webhook address Klaviyo gives you, so payments sync right away. Klaviyo then records four things: Successfully Paid, Failed Payment, Refunded Payment and Issued Invoice. Where it stops: a payment with no valid email address doesn't sync, subscriptions don't come across as their own events, and it depends on a webhook you add in Stripe by hand. Nobody checks that the failed payment emails worked. AI agents do that work.
What a Klaviyo Stripe integration has to do
Stripe takes the money. Klaviyo sends the emails. When they are connected, a receipt goes out after each payment, a note goes out when a card fails, and people who paid can be left out of a sales email.
So connected has to mean each payment, refund and failed card in Stripe lands on the right person in Klaviyo, within minutes. Klaviyo's app does this for payments and invoices. What it doesn't cover, like subscriptions and payments with no email, still has to be handled another way.
Two ways to connect Klaviyo with Stripe
Most businesses need the first one. Zapier fills gaps, like subscriptions.
Klaviyo's Stripe integration
- How it works
- You connect your Stripe account from Integrations in Klaviyo, then add a webhook in Stripe that sends charge and invoice events to Klaviyo. Klaviyo brings in up to five years of past payments and invoices, then records Successfully Paid, Failed Payment, Refunded Payment and Issued Invoice as they happen. Each can start a flow.
- Good for
- Businesses that bill in Stripe and want automatic receipts and failed payment emails from Klaviyo.
- Where it breaks
- Klaviyo's guide says a payment or invoice without a valid email address doesn't sync, and it won't make a profile from a name alone. It lists only those four metrics, so a new or cancelled subscription isn't its own event. You need a live Stripe account to set it up.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier can start from Stripe events like a new customer, a new subscription, a cancelled subscription or a completed checkout, and add or update a profile in Klaviyo. Its templates include adding Klaviyo subscribers for new Stripe subscriptions.
- Good for
- A subscription business that wants a welcome email on a new plan and a win-back email on a cancel.
- Where it breaks
- It copies only the steps you build, each one separately. If a step fails, the person never gets the email and nobody is told. Klaviyo's own triggers on Zapier check for new data every 15 minutes on Zapier's Free plan.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents spot each failed payment in Stripe, email the customer to update the card, and tell your team who may cancel. They check every day that your Klaviyo flows are still sending, and follow trials that go quiet before they end.
- Good for
- Subscription and service businesses where a failed card or a quiet flow means lost revenue.
- Where it breaks
- Refunds, discounts and anything your rules keep for a person go to the owner in one message.
How to connect Stripe to Klaviyo
These follow Klaviyo's own Stripe guide. Open it for the screens.
- 1
Connect your Stripe accountIn Klaviyo, go to Integrations, click Explore apps, search for Stripe, open the card and click Install. Click Connect to Stripe, sign in, select the account and click Connect.
- 2

Check the numbers matchWait for the past data to finish. Then open Analytics, Metrics, Successfully Paid in Klaviyo and compare yesterday's count with Stripe. Allow for payments with no email, and check both use the same time zone.
- 6
Turn on a failed payment flowMake a flow that starts on Stripe's Failed Payment metric, and tell the customer their card needs updating. Before you set it live, check that recent failed payments show up under that metric.
Where the Klaviyo Stripe integration stops
The app brings payments into Klaviyo. Checking that they keep arriving, and acting on what they say, is still a person's job.
No email, no sync. Klaviyo's guide says a payment or invoice must have a valid email address to sync, and Klaviyo won't make a profile from a name. In a 2021 Klaviyo Community thread, a store's test failed payments showed in Stripe but never in Klaviyo, so its failed payment flow never sent. Klaviyo's team said a missing email is the most common reason, and suggested a re-import, or removing and adding the integration again.
Only four kinds of events. Klaviyo's guide lists Successfully Paid, Failed Payment, Refunded Payment and Issued Invoice. A new plan, a cancelled plan or a trial ending is not one of them, so those emails need a zap or another tool.
Everything depends on one webhook. You add it in Stripe by hand. Stripe's guide says it retries a failed delivery for up to three days in live mode, that the same event can arrive twice, and that events don't always arrive in order. So a payment can reach Klaviyo late, twice, or after the refund that followed it.
And a failed payment email is not a recovered payment. Nobody checks who updated their card, who didn't, and who is about to cancel.
The agents that do it
Each agent does one job from start to finish, in your own Klaviyo and Stripe. Your team talks to them in Slack or Teams.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Klaviyo and Stripe and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Does Klaviyo integrate with Stripe?
Yes. Klaviyo has its own Stripe app. You connect your Stripe account from Integrations in Klaviyo, then add a webhook in Stripe so payments, refunds, failed payments and invoices sync right away.
Why are my Stripe payments not showing in Klaviyo?
Klaviyo's guide says a payment or invoice must have a valid email address to sync. Check the Stripe customer's email and the billing details on the payment. Also check that the past data has finished importing and the webhook is still on in Stripe.
Does the Klaviyo Stripe integration sync subscriptions?
Not as their own events. Klaviyo's guide lists four Stripe metrics: Successfully Paid, Failed Payment, Refunded Payment and Issued Invoice. For new or cancelled subscriptions, Zapier has Stripe triggers that can update Klaviyo.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
