To connect Stripe to ClickUp, you can use a Zapier zap: a Stripe event like Invoice Payment Failed, New Subscription or New Dispute makes a task in ClickUp. On ClickUp's Business plan and above, ClickUp's Webhook received trigger can also start an Automation when another app sends it data, and ClickUp names Stripe as one of those apps. Where it stops: Stripe can send the same event twice and out of order, so you get duplicate or out of date tasks, and nothing closes the task when the customer pays. Someone still chases each one. AI agents do that work.
Why a Stripe ClickUp integration matters
Stripe knows when money moves. ClickUp is where your team does the work that follows: set up the new client, chase the failed card, answer the dispute, stop work for the customer who canceled. When the two don't talk, someone checks the Stripe dashboard each morning and types what they find into ClickUp.
So connected has to mean three things. Each Stripe event that needs a person becomes one task, with the customer and the amount on it. The task changes when Stripe changes, like when the card finally goes through. And somebody owns it until it is done. A zap or a webhook gets you the first one.
Ways to connect Stripe and ClickUp
Zapier needs no code. ClickUp's own webhook trigger needs the Business plan or above.
A Zapier zap
- How it works
- Zapier starts from a Stripe event, like New Payment, New Subscription, Canceled Subscription, Invoice Payment Failed, New Dispute or New Refund. It then acts in ClickUp: Create Task, Update Task or Post a Task Comment. Zapier has ready made zaps, like one that makes a ClickUp task for each failed Stripe payment.
- Good for
- Small teams that want a task for each failed payment, dispute or new subscription without writing code.
- Where it breaks
- Each event is its own zap. A task made for a failed payment stays open when the customer pays, unless you build another zap that finds that task and closes it. To find that task later, the zap needs the Stripe customer ID or email saved on it.
ClickUp's Webhook received trigger
- How it works
- You turn on the Webhook received ClickApp, then make an Automation that starts when an outside app sends data to a web address ClickUp gives you. You paste a sample of the data, and ClickUp turns its fields into values you can put on a task.
- Good for
- Teams on ClickUp's Business plan or above who want Stripe events in ClickUp with no app in between.
- Where it breaks
- ClickUp rejects any request that doesn't carry your Workspace API key in its authorization header. Stripe's setup steps for a webhook ask for an endpoint URL and a description, and list no place for that key. ClickUp also caps requests at 200 a minute per Workspace.
Arkeo agents
- How it works
- Agents watch Stripe for failed payments, disputes, new customers and cancellations, make one ClickUp task for each with the customer and amount on it, email the customer when your rules allow, and close the task when Stripe shows it is paid.
- Good for
- Businesses that bill clients through Stripe and run their client work in ClickUp.
- Where it breaks
- Refunds, credits and anything your rules keep for a person go to the owner in one message, with the Stripe and ClickUp details attached.
How to set up a Stripe ClickUp integration
Short steps in our words. Each one links to the vendor's own page for the screens.
- 1
List the Stripe events that need a personWrite down which events should make work in ClickUp. Good ones to start with are failed payments, disputes, new subscriptions and canceled subscriptions. Each one is its own trigger.
- 2
Get a ClickUp List readyMake a List for the work, with custom fields for the customer's email and the amount. A zap or Automation can only fill fields that already exist.
- 3
Build the zapIn Zapier, start with a Stripe trigger like Invoice Payment Failed and connect your Stripe account. Add ClickUp's Create Task action, select the List, and map the customer email and amount into the task.
- 4
Or use ClickUp's Webhook received triggerOn the Business plan or above, click your Workspace name, select Apps and turn on Webhook received. Then click the robot icon in a List, click Create Automation, select Webhook received, copy the URL and API key, paste a sample payload, add an Action and click Create.
- 5
Test with a real eventSend a test event, then check that exactly one task appeared with the right customer and amount. In Stripe, you can click Resend on an event to send it again.
Where the Stripe ClickUp integration stops
A zap or a webhook turns a Stripe event into a task. It doesn't do the work the task is about, and it doesn't clean up after itself.
The same event can come twice. Stripe's webhooks guide says an endpoint might receive the same event more than once, and tells you to track event IDs to spot repeats. A zap or Automation that makes a task for each event makes two tasks unless you build that check yourself.
Events can come out of order, and late. Stripe says it doesn't promise to send events in the order they happen. If an event fails to arrive, Stripe keeps trying for up to three days in live mode. So the news that a card went through can arrive before the failed payment task even exists, or after someone has already chased the customer.
Nothing closes the loop. When a customer updates their card or a dispute is decided, the task in ClickUp stays as it was until someone opens Stripe, checks, and updates it. That is the copying the zap was meant to end.
ClickUp's own route has limits. The Webhook received trigger needs the Business plan or above and your Workspace API key on each request. On ClickUp's public feedback board, a request for a Stripe integration has been open since 2018, and comments ask for purchases to show up in a List and for help managing failed payments.

Questions
Is my customers' information safe?
Yes. Agents work in your own Stripe and ClickUp and see only what their job needs. Customer details never go into public AI. Agents connect to AI through business-grade connections audited under SOC 2.
Can I create a ClickUp task from a Stripe payment?
Yes. A Zapier zap can start from a Stripe event like New Payment or Invoice Payment Failed and use ClickUp's Create Task action. On ClickUp's Business plan or above, the Webhook received trigger can also start an Automation from data another app sends.
Why did my Stripe zap make two ClickUp tasks?
Stripe's webhooks guide says the same event can be sent more than once. Unless your setup checks for a task that already exists for that event, each copy makes a new task.
Does Stripe send events to ClickUp in order?
Not always. Stripe says it doesn't promise to send events in the order they happen, and it retries failed sends for up to three days in live mode.
What does it cost?
You get the price on the call, along with the hours it saves your team.
